... and have started using the King James Bible.

Went away and did some studies on it, looked at a lot of sites on this (some very good, some very poor), and most importantly, prayed over it. So, I got myself a large print KJV and have been using it.

Have to say I am really loving it.

One of the "fringe benefits" is that it is still the best supported by concordances and commentaries.

Did you happen upon a Bible with marginal tools and maps?

The copy I got has maps and a concordance and a few helps. The references are at the end of each verse, with the meaning of some archaic words, such as "kine".

I love the KJV bible. I went away from Christ for a long while before he lead me back and I had no bibles anymore. Well, I prayed that God would provide one that would help me with the doctrines of the church. Praise the Lord the next Sabbath the congregation I was worshipping with had laid out some books from their library they were getting rid of and there on the table was an old KJV bible in really good condition from 1948, it was a special SDA edition with all the doctrinal teachings in the back. Not only that but they were also giving away a copy of "Daniel and Revelation" by Uriah Smith. I love the Lord, whenever my wife prays he answers her prayers lickty split, mine he answers a little slower..LOL Love all

Daniel and Revelation was a good book, we did it as one of our study group reads. Uriah does get off base near the end however and we need to have the Holy Spirit guide us to be able to see the error he proposes. But even sister White has referenced the book as good for Adventist doctrine.
