OK what do we think about ghosts?

I don't think ghosts are real. Theoretically possible perhaps, but much more likely a fantasy or self-delusion by people in need of attention, comfort, prestige or whatever.

I'd love to be proved wrong tho, but there is no amount of cheap "proofs" that would convince me unless I happen to meet some ghosts in person, repeatedly and consistently to decrease the possibility of a mistake. I'd certainly be happy if that happened, since it would make me more safely convinced of the existence of the afterlife, but I just don't think it happens.

I have, on more than one occasion, met a "ghost".

It's dark, and so I won't say any more, but they're demonic.

Spirits. They don't necessarily have to be dead people, but they could be. I don't think all "ghosts" are evil and demonic. to think so is to be very spiritually limited and judgmental. Judge not lest ye be judged, it isn't our place to judge but god's. I think they're a lot like the jinn of Islam and like people can be persuaded and can also persuade others. This isn't just a superstitious belief and neither is any belief in something more than the physical world, god and satan. Even science is starting to get in on it. Ever heard how the physical world we see only accounts for 4% of the universe?

I agree with plmarquette. I am taught that there is an ultimate evil in this world embodied in Satan. He comes to steal, kill and destroy; he is a liar and the father of them. He is the source of all evil in this world. His helpers are the demons or unclean spirits(they may number into the trillions) plus unwitting humans that are acting in agreement with the devil.

Demons can definitely disguise as spirits of the dead, but I can't help but think of when Saul visited the witch of Endor and she summoned Samuel's ghost. I think "ghosts" can be all three options from the poll, depending on the situation.
