Could you please specify maybe why the divinity of Christ does not seem reasonable? Might make it easier to answer your question.

I believe the secret to a good life is treating others as well if not better than you treat yourself.
sinner/SAVED said:How do you account for those who treat others well, yet have miserable lives of their own? If your "secret" were true, then we could all just follow the rules and stay within the lines and be perfectly happy.

Ok here are my next questions which my cause a bit of a frenzy but hey! Ize is just a lernin.
So why is the divinity of Jesus so important? Why can you not believe that Jesus was a great man and follow his teachings but not accept his divinity.
Which is more important his teachings or his Divinity?

I ain’t too bright as well as a walking mistake.
I believe the secret to a good life is treating others as well if not better than you treat yourself.

If this is the secret to the "good life", then we all, by our own effort, could live the "good life". If this is true, then why don't we all just put forth that effort and experience the "good life"?

why do we most of the time fail to "do the right thing"?
Sparkalinda said:I find it very hard to believe that people do wrong more than they do right. Certainly there are some who do wrong more than right but common if this were the norm our world would be an unbearable place to live.
Even my little hoodlums at school can have good days and demonstrate uncommon levels of righteous
Behaviour.
What astounds me is this resignation some people have to a notion that everyone does more wrong than right.

food4thought said:Your logic:
I am a pretty good person because I do more good than bad.
Reality:
No your honor, I don't deserve prison for murdering the man, I get angry at people all the time, but I let them live far more often than I kill them!
See? The only difference is the severity of the crime. But in God's economy, every failure deserves eternal seperation from Him, because He is holy and perfect. So God sends His Son into the world to die for your sins and make you able to be with Him forever. You then reject that offer, and say "I do far more good than bad [read as: I let far more people live than I kill]".

VCman said:is man good? Let us think and reflect upon this. Definitions are always based on a constant idea. If the basis of your definition is not constant, then the definition is not constant either. So look at good. In order for something to be good, they must not be bad. If something that was good was also bad, how good would good be? This is why good is a stand alone idea. There can be good without bad, but there cannot be bad without good.
so again, is mankind good? Why do you think we are good? Because we do good things? I have noticed that nobody is inherantly good. Let us look at mother Theresa, a righteous woman. Why did she do the things she did? Because she was good? No, she did it because her religion told her to. I have noticed that there is always motivation behind our good works. If we were truly good, there would be no motivation, we would do it without thinking. Just the fact that there is a sinful taint in this world shows me that we are not good.-VC
