I just spent the bulk of the afternoon in the garden, as a matter of fact! I now have list of plants I 'need' to go get! LOL
I largely have a perennial garden. I will sometimes edge with annuals (impatiens and alyssum) if I feel energetic enough. I do have pots of annuals around the yard and porch and such.
As for veggies, we primarily grow roma tomatoes and basil (for making lots of bruschetta!) I've also grown peppers, cucumbers and celery....again if the mood strikes!
What about you, faithmom?
Yeah, my fingernails are already getting dirt stained. In a few flowering areas, I have a variety of bulbs, carnations, daisies, columbines, and lilly's of the valley. In the vegi garden I grow corn, peas, sunflowers, beans, lettuce, spinache, onions/garlic/shallots, a variety of squashes, beets, carrots, parsnips, rutabegas and asperagus. I also have rhubarb and stawberries growing in there. I line that garden with merrygolds, zinia and glads to dress up the chain link fense we use to keep the deer out of it.
Like you I do some container flowers if I get ambitious, but we are traveling through most of July, so I am debating if that is a good idea this year. It might be fun to plant them when we get back, and enjoy them deeper into the fall (taking them in and out of course).
Happy springtime! I'll check in again later to see how it's all growing.
