Nowadays you can't mention politics or religion without people devolving into Planet of the Apes. It used to be that toxic debates about these two things were confined to the YouTube comments section. Now, it looks like the YouTube comments section is spilling over into real life.

When you fail to discipline a child for bad behavior, he'll typically grow up to be a bad person. Since people rarely get disciplined for bad behavior on the internet, you have youngsters who grew up on the internet act like trolls in real life.

Yup. Oh, boy, many times, I bite my tongue at work. I have patients who would try to converse about politics. Lol and in my mind I'm like, "Dude, you got only how many weeks to live and all you are thinking about is politics?!!!" They get mad and angry at the news, well ofcourse, it'll make you mad and angry that's how they get viewers, why waste your time on things that will make your blood boil to prove a point on someone who already has their mind set. Then I get here, and see the person's (the one I wanted to ignore) thread about politics again over and over and over! Gaaaah!
:argh: It's making the experience here horrible! I don't care if others think I'm a softy, I just don't want to waste my emotions on feeling frustrated and angry that's all.

It's a fair assessment you have that I can totally understand. I've been interested in American politics since I was 15 or 16 because of how entertaining it was. It was a total gong show but now... I think it's just getting scary and I just want all this political and social tension to just quietly die down. I now got total politics fatigue after all these years.

I know the US is the leading political, economic, military, and cultural powerhouse of the world but I have a strong feeling that the culture wars over there is going to be its Achilles Heel one day. I just pray Jesus comes back before we end up murdering each other over gender, race, sexual orientation, and other political issues that really shouldn't be as big of a deal in a perfect world.

well, the signs of the end is nearing, didn't it say in that it will be like the days of "Noah", we are only at the tip of the iceberg of oncoming gross darkness. Exciting though because Jesus is coming back and yet concerning because many are not ready. But yeah, I just don't like politics, it brings out the ugly in a person, because many have dangerously extreme political views, and I'm talking about both sides.
Lol, but thanks Way for listening to my rant. I'll stop here. I just hope the admins would find a way to allow total block, just for sanity's sake.

Well,t he old saying goes. Best advice given at a party or social gathering is to never discuss religion and politics.

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him." ~Psalm 127:3

Yeah, children are a reward alright. The gifted, talented, and healthy ones anyways. When parents get a child who aces every test, brings homes medals and trophies like alchemy, and gives them grandchildren, parents are very proud to have him/her as their child and make sure to thank and praise God for giving them such a great kid.

If they get a disabled kid with many problems, however, that's a different story. We're just called a "test" or a "lesson" from God for Christians, a burden on society by the secular world. We get books and blogs written about us how we ruined their lives at first but then "taught them compassion and humility" after they spent every night questioning God's goodness and love for them for a number of years.

I honestly don't know how many of you feel this burden on a daily basis knowing that instead of being something to be proud of, you're just something existing only to test other people's faith and compassion. I wish I could have been the athletic, popular, honors student person everyone wanted me to be. Even Christians respect strength over character so this is why I had such little faith in God's love for me all these years.

Well most children are nowhere near that successful. I doubt very many parents have such high expectations of their children. Plus, plenty of parents have rewarding experiences with their autistic children. Some people even like the extra care having an autistic child may bring. Just think of evolutionary psychology.. parents before civilization had to endure much regarding their offspring.

How can you say you love someone when you want to change everything about them? :disrelieved:

Because people are stupid?

If someone orders steak when they wanted wings, why are they always surprised when they actually get a steak?

The world is mad.

Or at least because people make decisions with organs other than their brains...

Respect the dead folks.

Guy was murdered along with other people by a gunman... and then the news goes and brings up him, the victim's, past in a potential motorcycle gang. Completely unrelated to any of the case.

No respect.

The news - BBC news in particular, are comprised of a legion of ghouls. They drive perverse pleasure from the misfortune of others.

On principle I don't watch the news, or television at all for that matter.

So many women will be attracted to a guy because he’s different, he stands out from the crowd, he has unique energy... but then once they’ve “caught” him, they’ll set about trying to domesticate him and make him a clone of all the other guys.
I’m not having it. I recognize that partners can learn good things from each other... but God didn’t make me to be like every other guy on earth. If there’s no one out there who accepts me for who I am, it’ll be the single life for me.

No, it's not worth it.

I'll die happy if I can surpass my goals, live my best life and fulfil the mandate - even if it means never touching a woman again.

I don't know if I can die happy if I was to compromise my lifestyle to make a woman happy.

In fact, I know I can't.
