I don't think I have a preference. But I wouldn't mind being with an older woman. I do like some. But it's not like its mandatory. I'm fine with younger women as well.

I actually gave myself a little thought experiment where I asked myself if I would be interested in an older woman if they couldnt pay da bills while i fulfill my stay at home husbandly duties. And I was like probably not. I think the biggest problem is growing old together will not be fun very soon. I think for like 10 years it would be great but after that point its all going downhill. So thats the 2 major reasons I wouldn't do it. But there are definitely some ladies in their late 30's who I'd definitely consider regardless of these issues.

Gender roles are still strong in feminist circles.. plenty of them have no problem using the terms "manchild" and "deadbeat" for men.. while not seeing any issue that a "womanchild" equivalent or the term "deadbeat" is rarely used for women.

It's just encouraging old fashioned gender roles where the man is expected to take more of a guardianship role. Despite this being the genesis for most gender inequality problems.

Like if I had a billion dollars. Which type of woman would I be with is a question i'd ask myself. And if it was someone i had to be with till the end id be forced to go with someone my age or younger because we are talking about long term here. But if we were talking about short term relationships then age isn't as important. Because i am attracted to older women. Not all but definitely some. I don't think its because they are more masculine though. I just think they bring something different to the table that younger women can't.

Yeah I saw something like 26% of women don't work(ages 18-54ish) and 12% of men that age don't work. So definitely we have traditional roles still in existance. I would love to see the results of that study done in more liberal states. Like if this was done in new york i bet it would be very close. Maybe I'm wrong but i doubt many new yorker chicks want to be stay at home moms compared to women in the south.

I wouldn't feel ashamed though, like I said. Gender roles really come down to masculine (parent) feminine (child). Women retain more of their child-like characteristics as they age, with men retaining child-like characteristics much less. Still, I think within most men they still have a "feminine" "child-like" psychology. Which is why the idea that men find dominate women hot or have a thing for cougars isn't uncommon. But still, at the end of the day most women won't appreciate this and most men do not want something like that for the long term.

I mean, when it comes to dominate women I prefer late 30s and early 40s. Yet I don't consider myself very much a submissive person so it's not really going to be a thing for me and likewise most other men. Which also goes to explain why I am pretty confident about the fact that women in the BDSM scene who are in their early 20s are often attracted to men 10+ even 20+ older than themselves. I see these age gaps all the time there. The psychology makes perfect sense to me.

You have to factor in things like part time jobs too.

Men are still expected to be the main provider.. even many high income women still want someone who can at least match or succeed them. While many high income men don't care as much.

As far as moving past gender roles, if they're biological it's going to be hard. Although at the same time, I don't feel like being lectured by hypocritical feminists who can't even get their story straight when they demand equality and being treated equally. Females who want males who earn high incomes shouldn't be too shocked when those same males dominate many high positions in the workplace.

Well I know of plenty of men like you, so not that shocking. Not as shocking as men who are in their 20s being attracted to 60 year olds and up.

That is the interesting thing about attraction, it's rarely ever purely about the physical there is also an underlying psychological component too.

Not to get personal ImLikeOKwaitwhat, but you're only interested in the vanilla dating scene? If so, find it interesting to note.. because in the BDSM dating scene this sort of thing isn't uncommon. Although for many older women, they want someone their age or even older.

Biologically men are probably hybrids when it comes to the feminine and masculine but women seemed to be more primarily geared towards the feminine. Dominate women are certainly much more rare than dominate men. Yet submissive men and women seem almost equal in that scene.

I'd agree if I only wanted to be with older woman. But I find both the younger more childlike women and older more mature women attractive. If it was just I wanted someone who was older then I'd say you would be right.

Look at characters in mainstream media men and women gush over..

For men, we have plenty of dominate violent women we are attracted too like Xena as well as more traditional feminine women.. for women it's more like Christian Grey.. Christian Grey..

Maybe some of these romantic men express their feelings, but that hardly counts.. lol.. they are still needed to be financially secure and domineering to some extent.

It wasn't really in my train of thought, but it is something interesting to think about. If you go back far enough I do not see our ancestors having a concept of "masculinity" and "femininity". So perhaps men starting off as "women" in the womb is a reflection of that.

The evolution of femininity seems to have it's genesis in the selective pressures men had for more neotenous women as mates. The advantage of looking more neotenous (childlike appearance) is being more likely to be treated more gently and having more of an urge to be taken care of. Neoteny in adults is piggyback riding the already evolved psychology humans have with their infants. Women evolving this makes sense when you considering they are the ones who have children and one man can impregnate multiple women. They are simply more valuable than men and the selective pressures to view them in the same manner as children has obvious survival benefits.

Men looking more neotenous is just a side effect of men selecting more neotenous women, although even then men lag behind in neoteny on average. One interesting thing to note is that adult human skulls look more like baby chimpanzee skulls than adult chimpanzee skulls. Neoteny is a major theme of evolution and may also be tied to intelligence. As far as the evolution of the concept of masculinity is concerned it simply seems to be the leftover adult state. Perhaps masculinity isn't as biologically evolved/realized as femininity is. Masculinity does seem to be something that requires social conditioning somewhat. I think the greatest wake up call for men to be more masculine (adultlike) is trying to win the favor of other women. Women call men who don't step up as "manbabies" for a reason. Yet there doesn't really seem to be same terms or stigmas for women being "womenbabies".
