Been several years since I've watched the film Idiocracy. Should watch it again. Mike Judge produces quality entertainment, and has a knack for showing the quirks and psychology of humans.

Another time Jay was acting silly in public and I had to calm him down and say, "You do realize that people can record you and post you on the internet?" I say that because I know people are that cruel and inconsiderate, especially if they're rewarded with likes and subscribers. Jay then pretends to be hiding underneath his jacket trying to be funny. Jay tells me that if he does become a viral meme, he'll be fine with it as long as it makes people laugh. I then tell him, "They won't be laughing with you, they'll be laughing AT you at your expense!"

Seriously, it was good that you told him that as far as I am concerned, Wayholk. Because you aren't kidding about how people would be glad to record anything the slightest bit amiss if it happens in public these days, and stop at very little to humiliate their target afterward.

Every time a popular or critically acclaimed movie comes out, within weeks or days there will always, ALWAYS be some wannabe edgy hipster on Youtube saying "*Insert popular movie title* is overrated."

Yes, some movies can be overrated but these people seem to think that personally not liking a movie makes it overrated. Personally not liking a movie doesn't make a movie overrated. I repeat, PERSONALLY NOT LIKING A MOVIE DOESN'T MAKE IT OVERRATED.

For example I don't like The Godfather Part 2 like I do the first one. I think it's too long, scenes are too drawn out and Michael's character arc isn't as strong.
But I would never call it overrated. It's got good acting, interesting characters, story and great directing. I can see why so many people would say it's better than the first one.

Yes, movies and franchises can be overrated but it's pretty easy to tell when someone is using the word simply because they didn't like the film like everybody else did and/or are trying to be edgy.

Calling things overrated is...... overrated.
