• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Don't read about anything against religion or anything other than Christianity that's the worst thing you can do. Believing in doubt is trying to believe asking God to believe and things like that Raven you care too much to not be a Christian. And isn't that what this Pascals wager thing is you've mentioned it before. It doesn't matter why you believe the only thing that matters is that you believe and you obviously do!

Aw, sorry to hear about this. But don't give up on God. I'm going through a hard time too, but keep praying. I've been through the major doubts about His existence and they still come, but I do believe He is real. Because I honestly can't imagine the earth just being an accident. It's too complicated to happen like that. There's many things that prove He's real. I read this one article I like, I'll try to message it to you. And don't forget about the end times prophecy too. But good luck and God bless you!

Hey Christian Catholic,
I've been following some of your posts and all I can say is "wow!" you have really made huge strides in understanding and managing your OCD. You bless my heart and I love how compassionate and helpful you have been to others who are suffering with OCD.
Thank you for your kind words, but trust me, if anything I say is helpful to anyone it's only by God's grace that it is. It's such a priviledge to "bear one anothers burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Thank you soooo much for praying for my little grandson. That is precious to me!
Love you kiddo!
Mitzi

Thank you so Much for the kind words Mitzi, alot of times I still need to be reminded of my ocd as they can get a hold of us really fast but compared to a year or 2 ago im feeling better. My friends can see a bigger difference then me because they are in the outside looking in but its always nice to hear it from others:). Your grandson is always on my prayer list. Pretty soon I will need a book for that prayer list hehe.
Your right about bearing one anotehr burdens, Im learning now that my family isnt just my immediate blood relatives but also all of us are. We are part of teh body of Christ.

Yes the Holy spirit is working through you to help me and others. Love you too sister:)

I wish I could get a grip on all of this I just feel so separated and like I'm falling away I wanna have a Normal relationship with God I've always told hi
To do anything he has to to keep me with him.

Worriedone you are not falling away. Remember that faith isnt based on feel good feelings but your will and the fact that you gave yourself to Christ. No matter what your feelings are he has a firm grip on you and he wont ever let go:)
Remember its all about him and what he did when he died for us all on that Cross.

Jesuslover how can you doubt but really believe he is there also.

Raven, remember Faith isnt based on our feelings. You desire Christ, this i know. YOu need to hold on and he will get you through into the light.

That question is also for worried one.

Please let me know u 2 how that part is going?
God Bless you and I said a special prayer for you both yesterday:)

Today I've felt the same too I'm praying trying to keep my relationship with God. How can I know I have a relationship with him. I can't help but worry that someday I'll turn out to be one of those people who once was a Christian but fell away from God .

Worriedone, I also was worried about that at one time, but I know 100% that you wont. Faith starts from the heart first, the head second, and to me I see what your heart cares for no 1 above all and that is our lord and savior.

Alright I'll try to believe that it's so hard to deal with all of this... Do you think I'll ever have a normal relationship with God again?

Even right now you have an extraordinary relationship with God. If you men by normal getting through this disorder? Why not? John Bunyan had it very bad for a while but he eventually got through it, and remember back in bunyans time they didn't have therapy for this. You both aren't the first and you won't be the last.

Alot of people would have given up but you showed amazing Faith by hanging in and seeking help.

You mean without doubt he exists. I wonder that also.
.

Raven remember when these thoughts weren't there? One day it will be like that again sis, you just need to seek help and a spiritual advisor that understands what you are going through.

Remember worriedone what I said before, your giving your best right now and Jesus knows this, leave the rest up to him. Your salvation isn't dependent upon your feelings but on what he did for us all on that cross. Would the best father in the world ever stop loving his son. God is infinitely more loving than any father here on earth and if hecsaysvhe won't let you slip through his hands then he won't . He will never go back on his word.

Bank on that and not on your feelings raven and worriedone :)
