  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Obedience to the word of God is NOT optional -if we persist in disobedience we are not saved

Already your beliefs in "future sins also forgiven on cross" and "osas" are not accepted by many in this thread.

Then why you struggle to show yourself very biblical minded before them in order to please them?

If future sins are forgiven & no penalty, why to confess sins?
BTW

If Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness, if the believer has a righteousness apart from observing the law, Christ MUST have died for all your sins at Calvary, past, present and future, for sin is transgression of the law.
There is no way around that.
But dont forget it is a two part covenant. Such grace is only possible because the law God wants you to keep is written on your mind and placed on your heart. You in your heart want to obey God.
If you in your heart want to obey, you do not need the penalty of sin in place. That penalty is for those who have not been born again( the law is not on their heart) for they have no saviour from sin

You have not answered.

You believe in OSAS.

Now if there is no penalty for future sins, why to confess sins?

Since your "osas" & "future sins are already forgiven" have no takers in this thread, just answer with boldness rather than appear to make yourself very loyal to James & John.

I have already answered your question as to why we confess sins, as I am sure all will see who read the post.
However, just for you I'm will elaborate further.

The christian loves God, when they offend him, like a child to a parent they confess/admit their wrongdoing and ask his forgiveness for offending him. They do not ask forgiveness because they are afraid of being thrown out of the family if they do not. But there can be no peace, no rest until we come before our father I heaven and ask his forgiveness for wrongdoing.
For you cannot go against what is placed on your heart and have peace in your heart by doing so.
I trust i have now elaborated enough for you to understand the answer

So your theory of freedom from penalty is conditional to your obedience to the law. If you do not obey you will face penalty !

So, if a person does not obey the law, you will say that he is not born-again !!

And if someone asks whether you are born again, you will reply, "I do not know". Why? Becz you do not know whether you will obey the law 1 year from now!

This is your theology?

The above shows how far you are from understanding the new covenant.
But then, you have said all of the bible is not the truth and Christ came to destroy the law.
Jesus said he did not come to abolish/ destroy the law.
It appears you believe your knowledge / understanding is greater than jesus

You have still not answered !!

You who believe in OSAS, say there is no penalty for future sins. But you contradict yourself by saying that you will lose peace for sinning & lose peace for not confessing sins !! Is losing peace with God not a penalty?

In your theory, peace has to be purchased by your act of sin confession. You do not want Jesus who earned peace with God by His works on cross for you.

You must check your reading glasses & stop distorting what I wrote.

You have not still not answered.

Can you say as to whether you are born again?

I expect answer not mud slinging.

Oh I have answered very plainly. But you are frustrated because you cannot refute the scriptures to prove your errant view correct.
You are overzealous, having careered off on the wrong path. So many of your statements prove that.
You may have a read a book by someone, just eagerly latched onto what they wrote without prayerfully studying the scriptures to check if they were correct.
You need to humble yourself and be prepared to admit your error, but sadly, few like you are prepared to

Yes I am born again. And I have answered clearly. But you are determined to reject the truth I order to cling to your misdirected zeal
I'm distorting nothing. You have plainly contradicted the words of Christ, Paul, peter, James and john. It is there for all to see

This conversation is futile, you are not prepared to yield to the bible.
You got born again in your heart, not your flesh. You should know that.
A christian is a work in progress all their life. They come to Christ steeped I sin/ a slave oc sin. They follow after the holy spirit in the truth of the gospel message and grow, living an ever holier though imperfect life. While this process in ongoing they look to Christ, despite their imperfections and trust hw died for their imperfections, they have peace with God because of this.
But alas, at times christians do not ceaselessly look to Christ and follow after the holy spirit, they look away to the flesh. Their salvation I not in danger, but at these times their conscience is indeed seered and they come before the father and confess their folly. Then they get their peace back.
I fear I wasted my time in writing the above. I doubt you unde rd stand it

A born again person cannot & will not sin (1 john 3:9). How can you sin?
Once again, I have passed no comment on osas.

A christian cannot sin in their new nature but they can and do sin in the flesh. Hence 1 jogn1:8

And i have twice explained why you lose peace.
Either you are unable to grasp simple explanations, or, you are desperately trying to avoid the truth in orders to cling to your obvious errant views

You believe you can sin Becz you do not believe that you are born again. Instead you believe thay you are born again a sinner & not born again as a new creation. (2 corin5:17).

It happens according to your faith.

If you believe that it is not you but Christ lives in you, how can you sin?

Sin in the flesh?

Probably you must believe that Jesus has crucified your flesh with Him on the cross 2000 yrs back (galat 5:24).

You sin in the flesh Becz you believe that your flesh is not crucified in Him 2000 yrs back!!

Your post is frankly ridiculous.
You need to grow up in the faith and not Sta where you are.
I told you previously, I once held many of your views but have somewhat matured since then.
But then, the Pharisees didn't understand what Jesus told them, and they misconstrued what he said, as you are doing now. It is because of your frustration at being shown your error, something your flesh won't let you accept

Here:

So I say live by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the spirit, and the spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature.
They are in conflict with each other so that you do not do what you want

You must read galat 5:24 for victorious life.

Jesus did not die to leave you in the miserable state of having to sin, confess them, and still proclaim no penalty when you lose peace on a regular basis.

You are purchasing peace by your works of sin confessions !! This is miserable.

Your problem is kge which separated man from God.

How can you, who hold kge to be dear, be reconciled to God?
So you want to get back to no knowledge as before Ada and eve ate the forbidden apple.
Fine! Walk naked down the street without any embarrassment.
