Obedience to the word of God is NOT optional -if we persist in disobedience we are not saved

The greatest disobedience is believing that one can be saved by obeying God rather than believing that one can be saved only becz Jesus perfectly obeyed his Father-rom5:19.

no one has ever said that , to come to that conclusion you must willfully misconstrue what is being said .

the gospel .. which means good news , is a mesage and in that message there are instructions given which must be adhered to in order to be saved.
to disobey those instructions ..is not obedient to the gospel but rebellion .. no one gets saved by rebelling against God .

the good news does not say .hear this and you will automatically go to heaven -

There is a difference between law & the good news or gospel of Jesus. Law tells u to do this do that. But news just inform what Christ did for man. We only need to accept the news to be saved-rom10:9.

Laws says to do works to be saved but grace does works becz u r saved.

Grace doesnt do the works.. We do out of obedience. Gods grace has saved us from the works of sin so that we may now do the works of rightousness... If we do not now do the works of rightousness we do not have faith . for the just (those justified by faith)will live by faith.and faith that.like love. That has no works..is useless. It is like a body that has no breath in it . Dead.

I think you trusted in Christ only at conversion & then shifted to Christ + works to remain saved.

Christ was not sufficient for u to remain saved?

If God did not expect u & your works to save u (eph2:8,9) why wud he expect u & your works to keep u saved.
Isn't his Son & his blood sufficient to both save u & keep u saved for eternity?

The obedience that God expects is to trust his Son alone as the alpha & omega & not disobey God by trusting both his Son & works to be saved.
All religions teach that works save. That is disobedience to God.

he did what he did on the cross so that we can now walk in obedience being free from disobedience .. if we do not hear his voice and follow him .. we will not end up at the destination he is leading us to.

so again i ask you - what is it your trying to say ..are you telling us we need not walk in obedience to god now that we are saved /

Trusting in the grace of Christ as the only option to be saved is obedience.

Trusting in works in addition to Christ to be saved is not obedience.

Yes, you trust the bridge's characteristics alone to keep you till the end. Your being held up is a constant.

You walk not to be kept but to enjoy the walking.

So is christian life. Your salvation rests not on on your walking but rests on Jesus the eternal bridge (unchanging love) to the Father.

wrong ... we dont "make the bridge" because of anything we did -gods made it by his grace ... but to walk on it takes obedience to the good news of what he had done ..
there is dire warning to those who refuse to OBEY the good news .
salvation is not automatic .. ther gospel states very specific instructions before it is credited to us ..

-repent
-be baptised
-receive the holy Spirit .

too many leave out the repentance part .. they prove this by refusing to cease from their sin

Repentance is turning away from trust in kge to trust in love of Jesus & not reinforcing trust in kge.
