  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Investors Business Daily editorial this morning hits two politicians with one sentence:

Reacting to being linked with a bigoted conspiracy theorist by lecturing the nation on race is like disgraced ex-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer responding to his getting caught patronizing an international prostitution ring by giving a speech on the female physique . . .

http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=290732552237836

IBD goes on to point out that racial relations are not the issue, Obama's association with Rev Wright is the issue.

. . . how much do you think Wrights views influenced him to the point it is a political concern?

Wrights views influenced Obama enough that he wrote out tens of thousands of dollars in checks to help Wright promote his message.

Barack Hussein Obama's money helped inculcate in children the message Rev Wright preaches. Obama's money helped Rev Wright in his promotion of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.

I would say all of that is a political concern.

It is also a political concern if Obama seeks to put those who share Rev. Wrights views in government jobs. We know he has sought interns for his Senate office from his church, from those we heard screaming in approval when Rev. Wright gave those sermons. Do we want a President Obama to put people who cheered when Rev Wright said the government created AIDS in position of authority at the VA? In the State Department?

Now there is a scary thought. Unfortunately, I fear the answer to that question from a lot of liberals will be a resounding yes

luckily for the hatemongers, the benefits of an Obama Presidency will be felt by all Americans, even those who attempt to smear him with baseless attacks

Talk about hate mongering.

Look at post # 661

And Joel is not endorsing anyone or running for anything

Why not?

Edited to add: How is that any worse than the bunch in office now that put America in a war based upon a lie which has drained our coffers and american blood?

Wow Carey, falsely accusing me of anti-Semitism wasnt enough so it gets topped off with hate mongering? I dont hate Osteen at all. I simply believe his ministry represents a great deal of how far off track from Jesus' teachings the West has become. His sermons are cotton candy filled rainbows that melt as soon as reality hits. Maybe that's why Wright is so despised. He doesnt place political correctness ahead of Christ.

Isnt it ironic? Some of the same camps that try to claim racism isnt really a problem have bent over backwards 17 ways from Tuesday to make this race all about race. The funny part is, the race is so clouded with crap people like myself who dont support obama are perceived as obama supporters. Hardlined ideological camps need to have their fires put out.

Not hyperbole at all. Obama used TUCC to launch and maintain (up until this month) his political career. This is the milieu in which he operates. Perfectly natural for him to pay off with government positions those who operate in the same milieu, those who support Jeremiah Wright, Dorothy Tillman and others. There is Bill Ayers too--another little back alley Obama has gone into to garner political support. Think those who have supported Ayers won't be paid off if Obama became President? He would stuff the government full of these people.

Bottom line is this: because of his associationsfrom Wright to Ayers to Tillman, because of his church honoring Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, because Obama has written out large checks supporting Wright, it is doubtful Obama could get a security clearance. But some want him to be in charge of our National Security. That is just incredible.

So proud of Obama today...I am praying for this country that everyone sees's what a great leader we have been blessed with!

Always a Obama supporter!
We have been blessed with a great leader. Unfortunately, his term will soon expire and some would replace him with one who has no leadership experieince

Four words for you..........

Spread love not hate!
Be mentored by and support someone who spreads racist, divisive garbage from the pulpit, and you're given a pass.

Raise questions about such, and you're spreading hate.

I think my irony meter just caught fire. I can think of someone more deserving of those four words, can't you?

Probably. The church has been successful in spreading love even with inflammatory language. But then again, inflammatory language can be anything someone else disagrees with. All the defamatory statements against Wright are pretty sickening. No wonder some non believers mock us. We cant even love fellow Christians so how can we expect non believers we love them?

A honest question and if you may a candid response. Obama has record as a Professor, he has on record a book, he has a state legislation record, he has federal legislaton record replete with crafted and sponsored legislation, and he has on record a myriad of speeches, how much do you think Wrights views influenced him to the point it is a political concern?
The exact same amount his supporters are claiming his foreign policy advisers influenced him. Actually, more, since they aren't pastors claiming God's message.

Or we can go back and talk about how poor his foreign policy experience and judgment are.

Wow Carey, falsely accusing me of anti-Semitism wasnt enough so it gets topped off with hate mongering? I dont hate Osteen at all. Now wait. You brought up Osteen. I think he preaches with an empty head and there's no biblical teaching worth anything there, the same as you. But don't try to say that Wright is somehow better because he yells. Where is the biblical teaching in his sermons? Seriously, show me one. He's a hate monger and race baiter and that makes it even worse than osteens pastel covered emptiness, it makes him complicit in the problems the black community refuse to condemn.
