To whom ever is promoting homosexuality in a Catholic forum, FYI, the Catholic Church is not now, never was, nor will ever be, in favor of gay sexual relationships.

If Obama, or the man on the moon, whoever... makes it legal, it will never be accepted by the Church or by God, never.

It is, was and will always be, considered a grave sin... so please, to whom it may concern, stop promoting it. It's just atrocious to promote this when the Church is so obviously against it.

There is no such thing as two ppl of the same sex marrying. Marriage is an institution that belongs to the supernatural so it really doesn't much matter what any one *thinks* about it. We are not God and as hard as it is to imagine, neither is Obama.

Christianity in general does not accept two pp of the same sex marrying because it clearly is not God's will, so this thread really is just moot.

Such advocacy is the norm from the highest reaches of CF now Benedicta.

Those who actually promote the Church teaching on marriage and sexuality are but a small extremist minority here, who ought to be very careful as to how we proceed, if we would like to keep posting here in the future.

Tonks has made that point crystal clear to me.

Goodness! I am well aware of what the Bible says for I have read it umpteen times. I am in no way suggesting to be God or to state that God has changed His mind. I do not, in anyway. am trying to change what is clearly stated in the Bible.

God requires me to treat others as I want to be treated. I do recognize that there are those who are not Christian and I don't know there stand at all about what they believe Gpd requires or even just simply but profoundly doing good for its own sake. But I am to treat all, including for this thread, those who are gay, as I would want to be treated. I would be devastated to have any of my children gay. Still, I would be required to treat my kid as they would want to be treated. No matter who, God has not excused me from His command of treating others...

There are those because someone is gay who abuse and hurt those who are gay. Poor Matthew beat to death and hung on a fence. Matthew Wayne Shepard - A Gentle Spirit :-( How many others O Lord. Because I am a Christian? Because I abhor homosexuals? Because I don't want to rent to them or let them have the same rights of marriage and benefits given by the govt. because I am hetro? But the fact is - gay people deserve the same benefits that have been given to hetro's by our govt. IMO.

Maybe allow, what is in essence marriage, between gays but call it some other name. A chessy way that might abate the hate that is spewed? That has been proposed but can't recall right now what it is called. (Need my morn coffee.)

Remembering Nineveh was destroyed by God, not by people, I will never intentionally hurt someone for their sexual preference. I leave that to God. And those who in anger and some thinking they are defending traditional marriage and God himself, to do their hateful words and actions, who do not in the least represent Him. May God help me to stick to not hurting gays and forgive me my angry words of my past.

God bless all.

It is quite apparent then what Jesus would say about this.

Many people have their own views for sure on a variety of subjects, from rape to female circumsion to abortion to homosexual marriage.
And Catholics do to.

Yes...

There are those because someone is gay who abuse and hurt those who are gay. Poor Matthew beat to death and hung on a fence. Matthew Wayne Shepard - A Gentle Spirit :-
This has nothign to do with the gay marriage though.

( How many others O Lord. Because I am a Christian?...
Because you are a Christian, gays are murdered
Because I abhor homosexuals?
Do you abhor homosexuals?
Because I don't want to rent to them or let them have the same rights of marriage and benefits given by the govt.
Two men marrying each other need not be a right. Again, torturing people because they are gay, and Catholic teaching on marriage are not related.
The Catholic Chruch does not preach hate. Why are you continuing to imply that Shepard was tortured because of Catholic teaching on gay marriage, or associating the two unrelated ideas?
because I am hetro? But the fact is - gay people deserve the same benefits that have been given to hetro's by our govt. IMO.
It is the arrogance of one generation that believes that marriage needs to be redefined to something that it has never been by any previous tribe, creed or religion, civilization etc. so that it will become what it never has been before.
God does not gives us our commandments because he is on some kind of power trip, but they are given for our sakes, and our protection.
Even if our wisdom and knowledge does not understand how this could be, faith in God and his commandments will bring us to this conclusion.
Rest assured, if God's words are truth, the facts will bear this out.
Like I say, check it out.

Remembering Nineveh was destroyed by God, not by people, I will never intentionally hurt someone for their sexual preference.
Good for you. Most Catholics won't either.
That has nothing to do with the DOMA.

I leave that to God.
God does not hurt people for their sexual preference either actually. I am pretty sure I am right on this.

And those who in anger and some thinking they are defending traditional marriage and God himself, to do their hateful words and actions, who do not in the least represent Him.
Again, what does this have to do with defending and promoting Catholic teaching on marriage in a supposedly Catholic forum? This is again implying that promoting Catholic values is akin to hating and torturing people.

May God help me to stick to not hurting gays and forgive me my angry words of my past.
God does not want you to be angry here. I would be surprised if he did anyways. The truth about marriage needs your defense and protection too however. That is how I understand the teaching anyways.

Loving people warns them against behavior that will be harmful to themselves and others. Some of the most harmful things are the most alluring and the most pleasing to the eye and senses. People will not know, until it is too late. That is the only reason God makes these laws and commandments in the first place.

I understand totally how good Catholics no longer feel free to promote Catholic teaching here. the activist agenda that now predominates sees such behavior as the extremism of a small minority of hateful people.
I don't blame you then for towing that line too, Tigg. We have been served notice after all that if we want to keep on posting here we must refrain from doing so.

It is quite apparent then what Jesus would say about this.

.

Yes it is:

Render on to Ceasar what is Ceasar's, Render on to God what is God's.

Civil marriage is a civil right (rendering onto Ceasar what is Ceasar's)

Sacremental Marriage is a rite of the Catholic Chruch (rendering onto God what is God's)

As long as the goverment does force the Church to marry homosexuals I don't see the problem

Oh, wait, this ISN"T the "quite apparent" thing Jesus would say ?

Well, maybe you could put some quotes for the mouth of Jesus that says something else.....

So saying the Catholic Church and Christianity in general is against two ppl of the same sex marrying, is not the norm on a Christian site?

Wow, that's deep.

However, that does not reality make, does it? The Catholic and mainstream Christianity in general understand and comprehend that two ppl of the same sex marrying is just not God's will.

and last I knew, this includes Orthodoxy as well.

Jesus in no way would say that.. want to know why? because he hasn't.. he speaks through His Church, CC and no pope has ever said what you just did.

That's how we know what Jesus would say.

Well CC, if this is Ceasar's as you wish to point out, and the twin cities were under the secular society - then why did God pour wrath upon them?

Hmmm?

Society is not seperate from God [no matter who says otherwise]. He made us all, He set up governing powers and He will avenge the corrupt that abolish His Laws in favor for man's.

All immorality is accountable to all of humanity and we all die, and we ALL face Judgement and His wrath.

Jesus was referring to paying taxes, not immorality.

Tigg, this really is a false premise because no one here advocates we be mean to or mistreat gay ppl or that the should not have rights under the law.

We're just saying, it's not God's will that two ppl of the same sex marry. That's all.

oh, and that Bams as per usual, did not really mean what he said when he was running for prez. that's all.

But, even though society may approve of abortion and homosexuality,
God does not! People today may try to ignore it, but the human fetus is a
person. The psalmist proclaims to Yahweh: "From my mother's womb you are
my God" (Ps. 22:11); and "Truly you have formed my inmost being; you knit
me in my mother's womb" (Ps. 139: 13). Abortion, therefore, is murder!
Also, while people today speak about homosexual lovers, St. Paul says that
"no sodomites . . . will inherit God's kingdom" (I Cor. 6:9-10).
Furthermore, St. Paul says that God punished homosexual activity in the
past because it is "disgraceful," "shameful," "perverse," "depraved," and
"unseemly" (Rom. I:26-28).

ABORTION AND HOMOSEXUALITY AS A SIGN

The Sacred Scriptures certainly condemn all sexual activity outside
of marriage. St. Paul, for example, says that "no fornicators . . . or
adulterers . . . will inherit God's kingdom" (1 Cor. 6:9-10). And St.
Peter warns that the "darkest gloom" is reserved for those "with the
lustful ways of the flesh" (2 Pet. 2:17- 18). But <widespread murder> and
<rampant homosexuality> seem to be the key scriptural indicators of a
perverse and corrupt society. The people of Noah's time, for example, were
murderers, even of children (Gen. 4:23-24). God said to Noah: "from man in

regard to his fellow man I will demand an accounting for human life"
(Gen. 9: 5-6). God destroyed these people by a <flood> (Gen. 6-9). The
perverted men of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, on the other
hand, practiced homosexuality. They even wanted to have "intimacies" with
the men (angels) that God sent to warn Lot (Gen. 19:5). God destroyed
these people with <fire> from the sky (Gen. 18-19).

Now, St. Jude says about the people of "Sodom and Gomorrah" that
"they are set before us to <dissuade us,> as they undergo a punishment of
eternal fire" (Jude 1:7. My emphasis). And, St. Peter says that God
punished the "ancient world" at the time of "Noah" and "Sodom and Gomorrah
. . . <thereby showing what
would happen in the future to the godless> (2 Pet. 2:5-9. My emphasis).
So, when widespread murder and homosexuality characterize a society, the
people of that society should expect to be chastised by flood and fire and
"undergo a punishment" which is "eternal," leaving only a remnant which is
good.

Rhode Island: Once again, something about left leaningness.

Come get me when a state like Michigan legalizes gay marriage through the legislature. Until then, all you have in your examples are states out of the national mainstream that should not be taken for any form of declarative national statement on the subject.

More than 80% of the people in my state voted to put a ban against gay marriage in the state constitution. I was one of those 80%. I don't want a federal court or a federal legislature overruling our will that we exercised at the state level.
