"Member of Georgia Chapter of Oath Keepers Pleads Guilty to Seditious Conspiracy and Obstruction of Congress for Efforts to Stop Transfer of Power Following 2020 Presidential Election
Defendant Participated in Plot to Use Force to Oppose Execution of U.S. Laws, Including the Attack on the Capitol During the Certification Proceeding"

Member of Georgia Chapter of Oath Keepers Pleads Guilty to Seditious Conspiracy and Obstruction of Congress for Efforts to Stop Transfer of Power Following 2020 Presidential Election

From the justice department press release:

"In his guilty plea, Ulrich admitted that, from November 2020 through January 2021, he conspired with other Oath Keepers members and affiliates to use force to prevent, hinder and delay the execution of the laws of the United States governing the transfer of presidential power. He and others used encrypted and private communications, equipped themselves with a variety of weapons, donned combat and tactical gear, and were prepared to use force to stop the transfer of power."

After all of the planning, tactical gear donned, and talk of civil war he was taken down by pepper spray a few minutes after entering the capitol.

Edit; sorry for large bold font it just pasted that way and I didn’t know how to fix it!

I'm going to guess the Feds infiltrated his group, spurred them on, tracked them to DC and then took them down. Lesson: if you meet some hot-shot advocating illegal actions, walk away.

Is there any evidence that’s what happened? Do you assume all criminals were framed by the authorities?

Edit; And why would he plead guilty instead of using his entrapment as a defense?

His word and $5.95 will get a cup of coffee.
I just can’t get over the fact that BLM protesters in my lovely hometown that he thinks are all soyboy vegan cowards took on teargas nightly for months and didn’t back down but he gave up in like 10 minutes from being pepper sprayed.

The civil war that they keep yelling about will be interesting if that is the best there side can muster.

I've seen the pattern many times over many years. The Feds have been leaning on this guy for over a year, so the outcome is expected. Whatever - do remember my advise.

They have, because they had so much evidence against him. But he had a right to a trial by a jury of his peers, so the fed wouldn’t be the ones deciding his fate. If he was a victim of entrapment why not go to trial and tell the jury?

Man, yeah, it's almost like it's been an ongoing case with these terrorists since January 6th of last year when they stormed the Capitol building to try and stop democracy and murder elected officials--including Mike Pence.

Who do these feds think they are doing their job? Perhaps you have a suggestion on what to do? And perhaps you could speak a little closer to mic taped under my shirt so that the agents in the van across the street can hear it clearly.

Yawn. Predictably, in this thread we see more "Everything that makes my political side look bad is a conspiracy" nonsense...the son of the "My side couldn't have lost without there being a conspiracy behind it" thinking that led to the seditious conspiracy of January 6th in the first place. Will people ever learn?

As to this guy pleading guilty to what he did, he may not have kept his oath to his fellow terrorists, but at least he was honest about what he was planning to do. I don't 'respect' him for it, exactly, but it's miles better than the denial we continuously see from the Trumplodytes who are still defending the insurrectionists (terrorists) and their insurrection (terrorist plot).

How about this? Donald Trump had 6 weeks to prove fraud and a stolen election, and once his court cases and recounts were exhausted, he should have conceded. He was entitled to those court cases and recounts, as 2020 was an unusual election. And I myself was hoping in the first couple of weeks he would prevail. But come safe harbor day or December 12 (I believe) when the electoral college votes were certified that should have been it. Over. For the good of the country. He at that time should have conceded and started transition over to Joe Biden(whom I did not vote for.)
Because after that you had a lot of crazy conspiracy stuff which weakened our standing in the face of our enemies. You know that thing about the peaceful transfer of power? And accepting that the guy or gal you didn't vote for nevertheless won? You know like used to happen in my younger days? I'm speaking to BOTH sides here.
I agree with Bill Barr's assessment. There was no known fraud that would have changed the outcome of the election.
So Donald Trump is ultimately responsible for what happened January 6th, as he encouraged people to "fight." on his behalf to remedy the "stolen" election. There never should have been a January 6th in the first place. He knew, or should have known, that Mike Pence had no authority to do anything but open up and count electoral college votes. If he didn't know-he was led astray. Which is not a good look for a guy wanting to run again in 2024....

Yup. Oathkeeper didn’t keep his oath.

I have noticed that when something like that is in the name of an organization or country it is because they totally lack the thing it refers to.

Oathkeepers, People's Democratic Republic...

Which is why dude pleaded guilty. The entrapment defense sometimes works. Apparently the defendant (and his legal team) did not think it had much chance.
