This is something that our congregation hasn't really looked into before. Recently we met another Messianic family in Australia and the man wears Tzitzits. I was just wondering what everyone thinks about them, if anyone does where them and if any women do to.​

They are a commandment for the "children of Israel", not for others...
traditionally they are not worn by women.

Since believers in Messiah are to be a part of Israel according to the NT (and the Tanak as well) IMO this applies

49. One Law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

When one accepts Adonai and wants to become one of His people, then they can become apart of the nation of Israel. ie. Rahab, Ruth, Uriah the Hittite...

Also it is believed that Britian and America are the lost tribes Ephraim and Manassah, and Denmark is Dan's Mark. I have Brittish and Danish blood in me. So that could mean that I am actually physically Israelite.

It is also written that you are grafted into the family Ysrael. You are the adopted sons and daughters into our family. For how is it that one would say they are of Eloah Yahuah and of ha Masiach and yet not be subject to all that is of that faith? Let us not be divided about this. Sadly, you will find enormous opposition on this subject. The text itself calls for one people - we only imagine the NT is coming up with a new idea. Some things never change....

America is a melting pot of many cultures so to say America is a lost tribe would be like saying I have a toybox full of different kinds of toys. All my toys are marbles.
People don't realize that being a Jew is not as glamorous as it seems. And to be a Jew means much more responsibility in spiritual matters.

I have postulated (meaning an opinion not a hard fast teaching I want to stand 100% behind) but presented for consideration the idea to those who want to be Jews.

What if,

Say if,

The Natzal, the rapturos, the snatching away of some of the Church left behind all Jews and all who claimed to be Jews.

Will a wanna be person be willing to Die as a Jew?

According to Zech I think but I can find later, while Hitler took 1/3 of all Jews in Europe, a rare prophecy states that 2/3 of Jews in Trib or jacobs trouble will die.

Of course the world itself gets alot worse than that, by rather conservative means, most who assume this time of judgement coming can let some survivors skate thru forget Noah and his time of Judgement.

So my point is

Persecution and some will fall away, but torture and having to Admit or deny? well, my family left Germany before Hitler, whats coming I really hope we all aren't around for to see if the Want to Make a Jew parties really hold to thier heresies.

ZM - I think the two points are inextricably linked. The debate has moved on, essentially, to who is a Jew and, by definition, who can wear any sort of apparel that is distinctly Jewish, as is the tzitzit.

The OP is a bit confusing imo in that it asks HOW does one wear it - quite obvious I would have thought - so the key point really revolves around who can wear it - women, Gentiles etc?

Can Gentiles rightly wear it, or not, is presumably the basis for the question about lost tribes etc., as the OP refers to Messianics as well (though we do not know if they were Jews, or not!).

What do you think?

I have no idea about the tzittzit, but thanks for explaining the discussion, I couldnt see the link!

I think that the lost tribes are lost, and that they are no particular ethnic group, but scattered so that some from each group are descended. I am fascinated by genetics so any information anyone comes across on this I would be interested to see.

There have been many theories about the lost tribes but none have quite proved conclusive. There was a thought going around about 6 to 9 months ago that there were a number of Jews in India who were the lost tribes but that fuss died out a bit and came to nothing much.

The Scriptures seem just as confused about the vexed question of who is a 'Jew' - it could be argued either way, I think, though at the end of the day Jews usually come down on the side of the fact that you have to be born a Jew - but then others, including Jews, would argue that true Jews are the 'religious' ones. You pay your money and take your pick, it seems! There is a group of Gentiles in the UK who live and dress as orthodox Jews but who also declare Yeshua as their saviour -confusing or what?

No, actually the "Jews in India" fuss did not die down. When I am in Israel I see quite a number of Jews from India.
