My Final Conclusion on these matters: Click here: Thank you everyone who participated in this forum thread! Click the quote below.

Its... Not forgave all sins... He bore the penalty for all sins. Bore for all. Not forgave all. He took away the penalty for sin. They will still need to be forgiven for something else!

The penalty Jesus paid for was?

1 Timothy 2: 5
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men.

There is only one God.

There is only one mediator between God and Men.

the man Christ Jesus. -> Faith on the Lord Jesus Christ -> Access to God our Father.

Who gave Himself -> The Man Christ Jesus -> as a ransom for all.

The testimony that was given at the right time.

Christ Jesus the Man Son of God of Nazareth paid for all the sins of the world.

Ransom: 487 487 antílytron (from 473 /antí, "corresponding to, instead of/exchange" and 3083 /lýtron, "ransom-price") – properly, a full ransom, referring to Christ paying the complete purchase-price to secure our freedom (redemption) – i.e. Christ exchanging His eternal righteousness for our sin (cf. Ro 3:26; 2 Cor 5:21).

1 John 2: 2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

The world -> 2889 kósmos (literally, "something ordered") – properly, an "ordered system" (like the universe, creation); the world. Usage: the world, universe; worldly affairs; the inhabitants of the world; adornment.
This is the message.

IF you have not repented and turned to God yet and turned to the Lord Jesus Christ or you have been on the fence of deciding or not.

Jesus Christ has paid for the entire world (Everyone's) sins already. You have been forgiven now today and all that there is to do is to believe and have faith, that He overcame, death, sin, Satan, and the grave.

Today you can have a relationship with God, today. Jesus Christ came, died, and resurrected and God loves you, now as you are -> And sent his son Jesus Christ to pay for the sins. - > who was resurrected from the dead by God.

It doesn't require faith to have your sins forgiven.

That work has already been done.

Universal reconciliation -> the payment of all sins for all people, is a sound biblical doctrine.

Universal salvation -> Is not true.

Everyone in this life has to make a choice to turn towards God, and make a choice accept the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ who came to save us to the kingdom of God that we can be spiritually reborn and live by the spirit and have a an relationship with God and through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The choice you make decides on if you are saved to the Kingdom of God or not.

Will you have faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, and Trust God and his promises?

Do you have any comments or suggestions on any of these things?

We do not use the forgiveness, for a license to sin however to grow in love towards God, and the Lord Jesus Christ for what they have done in this life for all people.

    • Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Romans 9:15 (KJV 1900)

“Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.” Romans 9:18 (KJV 1900)

“Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?” Romans 9:21 (KJV 1900)

I don't quite understand how you manage to make a distinction between repentance and faith. It says in Mk 1:14-15:
"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”"
Do you see how these two belong together? You cannot have faith in Jesus Christ without repenting. Repentance means to turn away from sin, to turn back to God and live a "new life" (Romans 6:4).

It also makes no sense to say that the sins of unbelievers are forgiven without repentance. If their sins are forgiven, what do they get punished for at judgment day?
Jesus' death is enough to pay for all sins of the whole world, but nothing is paid if you don't repent and make use of Jesus' death.

It's like this:
Imagine there is a rich man who offers his bank account for everyone to use in case they are hungry. There is enough money so that nobody on earth has to starve anymore. But only those who believe it and go to the bank, who actually withdraw money, will be able to buy food. The rest keeps starving still.

Do you understand? There is enough money to pay for all the food, but the food is not paid unless you go to the bank. It doesn't pay itself automatically.

man, what is it with the crazy ideas being spouted here lately?? if a man doesn't repent, he cannot be reborn. Jesus said many a time, Repent! paul talked about repentance, John talked about repentance. you MUST repent!

Hello @Friedrich Rubinstein,

Look at the scriptures shown in the original post, they are either true or they are not.

Up to you to decide.

Hello @Dave L

Thank you for the scriptures.
Literally none of the verses you quoted allow the conclusion that repentance is not necessary. It says that Jesus died for the whole world - correct - but that does not mean that their sins are forgiven automatically. Everyone has the choice to make use of Jesus' gift of forgiveness (by repenting), everyone is free to make use of the ransom. It doesn't say more than that.

Hello Friedrich,

That is what people have said for thousands of years. You must repent to receive Christ to have forgiveness.

You must repent from your sins. According to those Scriptures Jesus Christ paid for the sins of all the world.

All people have been forgiven of their sins, Jesus Christ had to victory over sin, unless you believe otherwise.

Jesus Christ paid for the all sins of the world according to those scriptures, and Jesus Christ gave himself a ransom for all.

Now this is the good news "Jesus Christ has paid for your sins already, and God loves you as you are right now, it is your choice whether you decide you are going to have a relationship with Him or not"

And it's contrary to what normally is taught.

Why is it you believe like you do, and have you ever heard of this teaching before?

Here is the greek word from Colossians 1:14 Forgiveness.

859: Cognate: 859 áphesis (from 863 /aphíēmi, "send away, forgive" ) – properly, "something sent away"; i.e. remission ("forgiveness"), releasing someone from obligation or debt. See 863 (aphiēmi). Usage: a sending away, a letting go, a release, pardon, complete forgiveness.

Did Jesus Christ pay for all the sins of the world;

2 Corinthians 5:19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

The Greek word for Sins: 3900 paráptōma (from 3895 /parapíptō, see there) – properly, fall away after being close-beside, i.e. a lapse (deviation) from the truth; an error, "slip up"; wrong doing that can be (relatively) unconscious, "non-deliberate." Usage: a falling away, lapse, slip, false step, trespass, sin.

The Greek word for reconciliation: Cognate: 2643 katallagḗ – reconciliation (restoration) as the resulting of Christ exactly (precisely) exchanging His righteousness (blood) for our guilt. See 2644 (katallassō).

The Greek word here for world is : 2889 kósmos (literally, "something ordered") – properly, an "ordered system" (like the universe, creation); the world.

[The English term "cosmetic" is derived from 2889 /kósmos, i.e. the order ("ensemble") used of treating the face as a whole.] Usage: the world, universe; worldly affairs; the inhabitants of the world; adornment.

Jesus sent out His Apostles to forgive sins:

John 20:21-23

21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Lifelong_sinner: Repentance Cognate: 3341 metánoia – literally, "a change of mind" ("after-thought"); repentance. See 3340 /metanoeō ("repent").

Usage: repentance, a change of mind, change in the inner man.

Repentance is a change of mind in a person.

Basically my message is telling people according to bible, everyone is saved from their sins.

They are however not saved to the kingdom of God.

God is no longer mad or angry at human kind.

There are many people who believe in an angry wrathful God that is going to punish people for their sins.

The Truth is God had sent Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ chose to listen to his father and not sin, and paid for all the sins for all of the world.

God reconciled the world to himself because of this -> He saved everyone from sin.

They still have a choice to either live with God, or without God.

Thank you for asking.

  • Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! To "repent" is to admit you have been a sinner -- to put aside pride and humbly confess the truth that you have sinned.

To confess/repent means to turn from that sin, confessing it, and turn back to Christ.

Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

See 1rst John chapter 1 verse 5 through chapter 2 verse 4 for more. Christians are forgiven if they confess they have sinned.
1 John 1 NIV

For this reason most Christians on Earth attend churches where it is taught (and normal and expected) that we will at times confess our sins -- admit when we have done sin.

We don't sin all the time (and we will if we follow Christ sin less and less!...). But we do sometimes sin, and then we are to confess.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other...

Hello Halbhh,

That is what many people say, when you sin you must confess.

However in the case of James 1:14 - Temptation comes when a man is enticed by his own desire.

The message is not to continue in sin so grace may abound.

A promise God gives to us is that we are free from the bondage of Sin.

Though all of the world in its entirety has been forgiven of Sin, we are born again and start walking in the newness of life.

What does it mean when it says we must confess our sins to each other? Are those the sins that God has overcome in our life? What does that scripture mean James 5:16 to you?

Do you believe that Jesus Christ paid for all the worlds sins? That is the question you have to ask yourself.

Hello Friedrich, they will be judged based on their unbelief - no rewards - though given a spiritual body by God and placed outside of the kingdom of God, an allowed to do whatever they desire out there for that was the choice they wanted.

In my belief. What do you believe? What do you consider about all of these things?

Yes, many of us are intimately familiar with every bit of Romans chapter 6. And 7, and 8....

It's not the whole of the NT though, of course, and 1rst John is quite necessary. Just like for instance Romans or Ephesians. If you want to get all the needed parts. It could be done from just the gospels, but that would take plenty of time and prayer and true full listening. The epistles are very helpful. We live by "every word from the mouth of God" as Christ our Savior says.

The book ends at Rev 22, not just 20:15. Though am not good at explaining revelation. The lake of fire was made for Satan and his Angels.

Unbelievers are outside the Heavenly Jerusalem. You can see in Revelation 22. Believe Hell/ She'ol *Paradise / Prison was a place but was overcome by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Believe what the bible explains the afterlife looks like when it comes Revelation 22.

Yes, would encourage anyone to read and look towards the bible and grow in their knowledge and faith of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
