  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

what are red flags to you that ur girlfriend /boyfriend is cheating on you......... name all of them

Being a trusting person and not wanting to believe that someone I loved was cheating on me, I'd probably have to see it before I jumped to the conclusion that I was being cheated on. That being said, I'd apologize for not being her one and only and wish her the best with her new love. Then I'd probably step back, pray alot, and try my best to move on.

◘ In your opinion, what is the most controversial issue in the Bible?
○ Do you believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation? Why or why not?
◘ Which version of the Bible do you prefer to read? Why?
○ Do you believe in once saved, always saved? Why or why not?
◘ Is it correct to say that once we accept Christ into our life we are saved? Answer and then read Matthew 10:22 and give your opinion of the scripture.

Not sure. Maybe the book of revelations. It just seems so out there. They say the truth is stranger than fiction. I guess I'll see if the end times come in my lifetime.

No. I don't have any biblical support for my reasoning. I just believe God's grace goes beyond water.

I read the NIV. Some purists may be against anything other than the KJV and that's fine. I find the NIV easier to read and less archaic.

It guess it depends on what you believe "saved" means. Salvation is a free gift for everyone. Christ died for each and everyone of us (not just for the people that know of Christ's sacrifice and believe in him). I believe the only people that fall from grace are those who truly believe they are perfect and don't need a savior. We all start out as saved. Whether or not we stay that way is on us.

I think we start out as saved. No doubt putting your faith in the sacrifice of Christ is a good thing and opens your eyes to how much God loves us, but we have been saved since the day Christ died. Perhaps Christ's sacrifice even covers those who came before him. I like to believe it did. Mark 10:22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. NIV To me this verse simply weeds out the people who, when faced with the trials of life, would give up on Christ and hate God for their suffering. No doubt trials can leave us wondering why, but a true believe would never question God's love for him/her.

do you think women should be the head of a church or head of a house? and why

I don't have a problem with women leading churches and being the head of the house. I guess it's a gender reversal from the standard, but a powerful woman doesn't intimidate me.

I don't watch a whole lot of primetime television anymore. I'm not really anticipating the return of anything as of now.

Not sure. I'll get back to you on that.

Ally McBeal. Whatever happend to that show anyway? It was witty, fun, and Ally was a tad eccentric. It had it's liberal leanings, but it was still entertaining.

Married With Children. Classic Fox television. It was so painfully real and oh so funny. Anything bad that could happen to Al happend. You knew it was coming and it was still so funny. Jefferson made that show.

I don't really know. None really I guess. I'd have to create a sitcom for me to identify with it. I'm not the average guy. I actually think my life could make for some good TV.

A deserted island or a starry night in the middle of nowhere with the one I love.

I'd probably have to consult God on that one. I'm not too sure what I would change.

I tear up when I see/hear love expressed beautifully. There are a few really sad songs that have brought me to tears. So I guess I cry on occasion, but I don't make a habit out of it.

I can't think of anything specific, but I try to underestimate myself. That way I come off as modest and if I do end up achieving what I didn't think I could, I feel that much better.

That's one of those commandments that is impossible for us sinners to do. I try to treat everyone with respect and kindness, but I can't love a complete stranger the way I love myself. I think you can love others more than you love yourself, but I also believe you need to love yourself to a certain degree in order to love others.

Do you prefer interstates or regular roads?

Depends on if I need to get somewhere fast. I love interstates when there is no traffic and you can lock it in at 75-80 mph. I hate interstates when they are bumper to bumper. I love the scenic views that smaller county roads offer. I love driving, especially to places I've never been before. When I'm on a road I've never been on, my eyes are peeled on the the sights and surroundings the road has to offer.

Can anything other than man dedicate their life to following God? That being said, I can't imagine a heaven without some plants and animals. Heck, there are probably plants and animals in heaven that don't exist here.

I don't know the exact number. It's not high by any means.

It was either The Outsiders or To Kill A Mockingbird. I can't remember which came after. I don't think I've read a book since 9th grade.

Hmm. Not sure. I liked the the movie Gone With The Wind and A River Runs Through It. Perhaps one of those would be my favorite if I ever decided to read them.

Old Dan and Little Ann.

Where the Wild Things Are. Classic kids book.

Don't have a favorite.

Amazon I guess.

It's important that kids are passionate about something intellectual. Whether that is math, reading, writing, history, music, ect. it doesn't really matter. It's good to be well rounded, but we all have different strengths and passions.

○ In your opinion, what is the difference between the soul and the spirit?
• Have you ever been interested in researching your ancestory? Why or why not?
○ Would you ever consider being a moderator on Foru.ms? If so, which board would you like to moderate?
• If someone is in a burning building and they know they will die, do you believe that God would hold them accountable if they jump out of a window instead knowing they had no chance of survival (ie, 200 stories up)? Do you think that jumping out of the window was committing suicide or simply deciding how to die?

To me, they are synonymous words.

I guess it would be kinda cool. We actually have a family reunion in Kansas each thanksgiving where our extended family gets together. Basically everyone there can draw their lineage to what would be my great great grandparents. They had 14 kids so there are alot of decendents. We get together on the farm and shoot guns. It's great. We get a line of 8 or 10 guys shooting skeet and take turns. Good times.

Doubt it. Way too much drama here and I don't want any part of sifting through the trash.

I don't know. It kinda reminds me of the way king saul went out. It's an interesting topic. I mean we all are going to die at some point. If everything happens according to God's will, no matter what choice we make, we end up carrying out his plan. Surely its wrong to end our lives early, but it's just another sin that has already been paid for on the cross. I'm just happy that each second that passes brings me that much closer to heaven. I could die a happy man right now. God has blessed me with so much more than I deserve and there's now way I could ever thank him enough. I've met great people, I've seen and been to more beautiful places than most ever will, I met a girl that went beyond my wildest dreams and she gave me an evening that I won't ever forget. God put Alison Krauss on this earth to give my ears a small sample of what the angels will sing like in heaven. I honestly don't know why I'm still here. Maybe I'm supposed to suffer more so it will make heaven that much sweeter. Wow I'm talking way too much. Thank you so much God for all that you have given me. I'm sorry for all of the times I've disappointed you and so glad that you continue to love me anyway.

I like to think that the only desire angels have is to be there for people that need them. I can only wish my only desire was to help others. I'm not sure if any of God's creations truly have free will. I mean, I didn't have a choice on whether or not I wanted to be created. I'm sure the struggles of life are far worth the eternal joy of a sinless kingdom.

I always thought of them as being female. I guess it would make sense if God is a male. Who knows for certain though?

Don't know.

I reckon they have whatever powers they need to serve their purpose. Physical evidence? Probably not. When we go on to heaven, we probably get to look back on our lives and see them taking actions that we couldn't see while on we were temporarily away from our maker.

I hope so. I don't think God would bring a person into the world without an angel to help guide them along the way. Life is far too troublesome to not have someone looking after you at all times.

Not as much as I should.

Not really. Just the family reunion in kansas every thanksgiving.

I don't argue often. I rarely let anyone get to me enough to argue with them. My mom and sister get after it though. Their problem is that they are the exact same person. I wish them the best. I really should pray for them more than I do.

I don't know. The west coast has always appealed to me for some reason. To be completely honest, I'd rather go with a couple friends than my family. As they say, friends are the family that you get to choose.

Probably the youngest. My little step sister is only 5 and she has alot to live for. I don't think I'd struggle with it too much. I'd gladly throw my life down to save anyone in my family.

I'd never go through it. That being said, I don't think it is my duty to put a stop to people that would do it.

I've got a letter of stuff I want read at my funeral. I haven't made a list of who gets my stuff though.

That's really up to the individual. If the individual didn't have any specifics on how long, I'd let family members make the decision on the length of time.

I'd choose everlasting life with God (if I belong in heaven).

I certainly wouldn't want to burden my family. That being said, if they sincerely wanted to take care of me the rest of my life, I guess I'd hang around. All things in perspective, maybe it wouldn't be so bad being a veggie. Does a veggie ever feel stressed out about anything?

Do you celebrate Halloween?

When I was a kid sure. Now I just hand out candy.
