Not sure whether to find a new church

Please pray that I may have clarity on whether or not I should look for a new church.

I'm having doubts about the biblical authenticity of my pastor's messages. It seems like he just preaches his own opinions and when he's asked he cannot back up any of his teachings with bible verses.

I'm still hesitating because in some ways I feel that maybe this is the church I belong to. But I can't keep putting off this decision forever.

I think you have already discerned what to do, but you should still take it to God in prayer. Preaching should be from God's word, not theology, cute little stories etc...

Good for you that you want to hear the real words of Scripture. Sometime if you have the time you might want to search out what "Church" actually meant in Scripture. It is an English translation from the Greek word Ecclesia, which just means a gathering of believers. Certainly there were no buildings such as there are today, called Churches. That is a modern word & concept. There actually were no Churches in the 1st Century, just gatherings of believers. You could even have study groups in your own home as some of the apostles did. Just a thought.

I will pray for YHWH to lead to you another Church if that is where He wants you to be, or to wherever else He might want you to be.
