Such a beautiful post. The purpose of assembling is to edify one another by everyone contributing through sharing and discerning.
1 Cor 14
26What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; 28but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. 29Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment.
The process outlined below requires group activity:
- Asking for bread daily
- Assembling
- Sharing
- Discerning
Those who have been cleansed through the word are the ones who have given up serving the world for selfish reasons.
Those whose feet have been cleaned are those who do not even fear for their lives by sharing the above message. It is nuanced. Peter left everything and followed Christ. However, how the message affected different aspects of his life needed clarification, foot washing. He had to give up triumphalism, trying to show how superior he had become, not make the mistake Israel and Moses made in going out to fight Canaan when God was not with them, and in Moses case, trying to show how superior he had become by claiming God's glory for himself by striking the Rock for water.
People are going to be saved by depending on God, not Moses, or Cephas or Apollos.
The concern of the hand or toe is to form a viable body, to bless the world.
If an ekklesia, a separated called out body, becomes viable at a local level, it has manifested the Kingdom of God, has become a Temple for the Holy Spirit. There is no need for unity for ALL global units.
The teaching is simple, accessible, if believers follow Scripture teaching: ask for bread, eat that bread, share that bread...
Because of Israel's disbelief, Gentiles now also have hope, can share in Christ's work of blessing the world. Bread meant for the natural children, branch, are now going out to sheep of the other flock, wild branches...
