How do we obey this scripture? What do we exhort each other to do? Thank you in advance. :)

Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

You're HERE!!!!! Happy new year!!!! 'Tis sooooo good to see you!!!!

Ok, my response is that it means to love our brothers n' sisters in Christ, and to encourage, pray for, and support each other, and gravitate towards doing that in any setting...like even here.

Where two or three are gathered He is there.

1 John 1:3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your[a] joy may be full.

Sadly many today are missing the enjoyment and blessings of good ole fashioned church fellowship.
It was always so much fun going to church when I was a kid and filling peoples cars with squash when they too were trying to give a bunch away. LOL Good Times! Good Times!!

Isn't that wunnerful that two or three of us can connect from anywhere in the world and glorify God together, and joy in His presence?

Praise God!!!

To answer tha question, I think it's important to see what the Apostles met by "assembling". There was regular assembly of the Body, prayers were said, hymns were sung, Scripture and letters of exhortation were read, the poor were helped, there was Eucharistic fellowship, and all gave thanks and treated one another in love (ideally).

Fellowship in any context is good, and we ought always to encourage one another. But this was specifically a charge not to forsake the kind of assembling the early Church practiced.

There is much disagreement on which practices those were, hence the division among the denominations.

This verse is regularly used to beat people about the head into attending church, even on this forum. However I don't see church fulfilling what it says in the least bit.

Yes we are called to assemble together, but not to passively sit in rows before of one man at the front.

The purpose of meeting is to interact together as Paul makes clear in 1Cor14v26.
The ministry was never intended to be from one man, but from the Holy Spirit speaking through whichever person He gives a word via.

The sit stand sing rota of church did not come from the Lord, but from those who wish to exert control over the sheep.

We can exhort each other to walk in the way of Jesus. It seems to me too many people call themselves Christians but have carved out their own paths.
