Anyone got some body horror movies to recommend to me, btw? They are pretty much the only type of horror movie that can affect me in the intended way, the kind of nightmare inducing horror that can keep me awake at night with the imagery. The insomnia is so bad, but I can't look away DX XD

Also, if any of you are a fan of the surreal and disturbing, Eraserhead sure to... make you uncertain of what you are even watching.

Oh yes, and especially The Forbidden Planet.

I'd add Quatermass and the Pit, distinctly the best of the Quatermass series.
"The Man Who Would Be King" is my favourite favourite?
(Why did Caine and Connery never make more films together?)

Nearer modern times...
"Attack the Block" is wonderful, downbeat urban British horror, but some Americans need subtitles for the accents.

"Hot Fuzz": Simon Pegg's best film, probably, though some hold out for "The World's End"
(I've taken a bus to The World's End.)

For people that like intelligent comedies/dramas, Thank You for Smoking is a good movie.

If you want to sink into the depths of despair, or prove that you don't emotionally connect with movie characters and be bored out of your mind, Requiem for a Dream is shot and acted very well, as depressing as the movie is.

Also, curse my biological father for having no sense of taste, but he showed me A Clockwork Orange when I was 16... he laughed through the whole movie, and the only time I could peel myself away from that movie was to give him the look of "I know they dress funny, but we just watched them beat up a homeless person in a brutal and noncomedic fashion, this is a horrible movie to ask your 16 year old daughter to watch with you, and you have no excuse because you have seen it before." In short, a combination of -_- and O.O .
