  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My husband and I are praying about getting rid of cable. We'd keep the t.v. for watching dvd's and videos and we could possibly get one t.v. channel for local news.

More than anything else, it's the commercials that bother us. We don't watch bad shows, but the nasty commercials invade good shows too, even nice movies and shows.

Besides, there aren't a lot of family shows or movies left. We order Christian movies from christianbook.com

Would you rather lose or win a game of checkers if you were playing with a small child?

I don't mind winning as long as the child gets to win a few games, too.

I've been known to give advice to my young opponents, and have thrown a game or two in my time, but learning to loose gracefully is part of good sportsmanship, so I find nothing wrong with winning a game or two! :)

Do you play board games with your family?
