A few years ago it was discovered that modern-day Europeans and Asians carry Neanderthal DNA. It was later discovered that all non-Africans populations also carry Neanderthal DNA.

Now it seems that North Africans carry Neanderthal DNA too. In fact they may even have more than Europeans:
We analyzed a total of 780,000 SNPs in 125 individuals representing seven different North African locations and searched for their ancestral/derived state in comparison to different human populations and Neandertals. We found that North African populations have a significant excess of derived alleles shared with Neandertals, when compared to sub-Saharan Africans. This excess is similar to that found in non-African humans, a fact that can be interpreted as a sign of Neandertal admixture. Furthermore, the Neandertal's genetic signal is higher in populations with a local, pre-Neolithic North African ancestry. Therefore, the detected ancient admixture is not due to recent Near Eastern or European migrations.
When they sorted out parts of the genome in Tunisians that ADMIXTURE determines to be most likely from pre-Neolithic North Africans, they found these parts of the genome had more Neandertal ancestry than typical of the CEU sample of northern European ancestry. Is it possible that ancient North Africans had more Neandertal similarity than today's Europeans?

(Not sure what this has to do with the evo-crevo debate but I felt like posting it :D.)

It actually supports my hypothesis that Neanderthals were real people at one time, but were stricken with a "wonderful plague" by God.

Deuteronomy 28:59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

I believe David died of such a bone-altering plague (Psalm 38), and that if his bones were dug up today, he would be mistaken for a Neanderthal.

Don't know much about this subject, just wondering--How do they know it is Neanderthal DNA??---I mean, where did they get the first Neanderthal DNA? And why do they think Neanderthal is not just a birth defect of some sort??
I never thought about Duet 28:59 in the way that AV1611VET states---interesting.

From Neanderthal fossils of course. The entire Neanderthal genome has been sequenced at the Max Planck institute.

We have found many Neanderthal fossils, and science is perfectly capable of recognizing distinguishing features from birth defects. Look here for more info: Neanderthal anatomy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes, that's what I mean. I was using "fossils" in an unscientific way. Sorry.
Actually, you were using "fossil" in a scientific way. Technically, it means any remains of living things from a previous geological period, i.e. more than 10,000 years old.

There are others that write on the same subject. Spencer Wells, Oppenheimer, Cavalli-Sforaz are all popular. They are the people that came up with what we call the out of Africa theory. These are all people that have written books that have to do with the subject matter of this thread.
Not to mention Charles Darwin.

Uh-oh, that sounds ominously familiar.

Thanks for catching that before he edited it.

Nice try John, but the mods are on to you now.

This stay might be much shorter than Jazer, Norman or Jamin...

I don't think so.
If it were, then any human skeleton would be a fossil. (Ooops! consider to replace human skeleton by dog skeleton).

Instead of responding to OP, I would ask you this question, since you are an expert on human.

Does DNA (or something else) of Neanderthals from various continents show any evidence of migration?

No... he would be "mistaken" for a person who suffered from a bone-altering disease. You seem to think bone diseases make people look like extinct species. They don't. Diseases don't change things in correct proportions or symmetry.

Bone disfigurations will certainly do.

Because they sequenced DNA from Neanderthal fossils.

You didn't because he is wrong.
