Normal People (Add On)

[TheDerek]

Derek wondered why they were whistling. Soon the waiter came bsck with two stakes and apoligized for the wait. They sat there eating there steaks and talking. Derek kneww he wanted to spen some more time with her. Outside of work.

 

[Sher]

As she ate, Laurie thought about what the others had meant. She wondered if Derek had picked up on it yet. She looked up at Derek, who seemed to be fully concentrating on eating. No different from any other guy Laurie thought with a little chuckle to herself. Then he looked up and into her eyes, and she looked back frozen in place.

 

[TheDerek]

Derek knew that Laurie was the one he wanted to start to date. As they ate, he looked down on his food. Finallhy he looked up, Laurie was lookuing him in the eyes. Now was as good a time as any, Derek thought. "Laurie," He began,"I really like you. I wnat to see you out side of work."

 

[Sher]

Laurie took a deep breath. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She knew she had been interested in him, but this was the first time in her life a guy would be interested in her. She found her voice after a moment and said, "Well, I'd like to see you too. But are you sure? You hardly even know me!"

 

[TheDerek]

Derek Took a breathe, "I know you enough. I know that I want to be with you. I know that." Derek said. Then there was silence. He sat there waiting for an answer. Then the waiter brought the check. Derek quickly puylled out his credit card. "My treat,." He said.

 

[Sher]

Laurie wasn't sure what to do. She knew she had to say something, but she wasn't sure she wanted to jump into a relationship head over heels at the moment. Just then the waiter brought the check, and she saw Derek pay it. Her mind was numb, and she forgot that she was supposed to pay untill he said, "My treat!" Then she snapped back into reality and said, "No you don't!" as she paid the waiter. Then she told him, " I'm willing to give us a shot if you are, and it seems you are" she said with a little laugh.

Derek was shoked whe se payed. Derek Looked her in the eyes. He knew thats what he wanted to do. They then went outside, And started to walk along the beach, taling.

 

[Sher]

Laurie walked along the beach with Derek. She was a little nervous, but mostly at ease. Somehow she felt comfortable around Derek, unlike any other guy she'd ever liked before. She said in a low voice, "So, tell me a little about yourself. "

 

[TheDerek]

"Well," Derek began. "I came to the collage to get away from my parents. I came with my best friend, charles. We were friends, I am sad he died. I like helping people and am, good wiht peple, si I decvided to be a counselor. Enough about me, How about you?"

 

[Sher]

Laurie wondered how anybody could actually come to get away from parents. She wished hers were there right then. "I came a stranger. I had one friend here, who had a friend, and she wanted us three to board together. They don't know too much about my past life, but we all get along fine. I want to be an elementary eductator, and so I'm taking classes for that. I'm really good with kids and I love to help people, so I figured this would be a good job for me." She stopped talking and they walked along in silence.

 

[TheDerek]

They walked along the beach, and slowly made the way to there cars. When thyey reached them, Derek bent down and kissed her on her cheek. Then they said good night, and Derek got on his moped and drove away.

Derek got home, and was going to tell charles about his night. When he got there, charles wasnt there, and he felt an emptyness inside of him...

 

[Sher]

Laurie drove home. When she got there, her two roommates were there to greet her with devious smiles. "Well, well. Where have we been?" they aked. She blushed. Usually they were the ones out till late, not her. She glanced at the clock and saw that it was eleven. "I've been at the library, and I'm exhausted! I lost all sense of time untill they came to me at ten and told me that it was closing time. After that I checked on the store and headed over to mcdonalds for a little dinner. Is that okay with you guys?" she asked with a grin on her face.

 

[TheDerek]

Derek Tried to sleep, he coudlnt. He needed to talk. He remembered Laurie telling him he could call anytime. He picked up the phone and called

"Helo?"
"Is Laurie there?
"Hold on."

 

[Sher]

Sam woke Laurie up. Laurie looked up at her groggily and said, "What's up?" Sam looked down at her and said,"There's some guy on the phone for you." Laurie wondered what was going on, and she got out of bed and went to the phone. "Hello?" she said.

 

[TheDerek]

"Laurie, I couldnt sleep, I just need to talk."
"Well, What do you want to talk about?"
"I dunno, just anything."

So they just sat there, talking.
Derek Woke up nwith the phone off the hook.

 

[Sher]

Laurie talked to Derek for hours. At first Sam sat up watching and listening, but eventually she got tired and went back to bed. Derek's voice was getting slurred. Suddenly, she heard a thud and then the sound of Derek's snoring. She smiled tiredly and put the receiver back on the phone. She knew Derek had fallen asleep finally. He'd needed to talk. She knew what it felt like to just need to talk. She glanced at the clock and saw that it was five am. She got to bed and covered up as she set her alarm for noon. Since it was Sunday, they wouldn't have the shop open. She slept through her alarm and untill two. When she got up, she walked into the kitchen to look in the fridge for food. She saw her roommates staring at her with two grins on their faces. "What were you doing up so late last night Laurie?"

 

[TheDerek]

Derek woke up at 3:00. He decided to go for a moped ride and breakfest. First he showered, then he decided to call Laurie to see if she wanted to go out for breakfast and a movie. He grabed hte phone and dialed.

 

[Sher]

Laurie was sitting in the kitchen, fully dressed and ready to head off to the library when Derek called. She picked up the phone and said, "Hey! Who's this?"
"This is Derek. Would you like to go out for breakfast?"
"Sure!" she replied. "Just give me five minutes to meet you somewhere. Where do you wanna go?" she asked.

 

[TheDerek]

Derek thought A secopnd.
"How about I pick ya up?"
"Sure."
Derek arived at her place in a few minutes and she was waitiong outside. Derek Scooted up, and Luarie sat on the back of the mopep. In a couple minuets the pulled up in front of The house of Panacks.

Kara walked around campuss. She didn't have any classes for the rest of the week. She walked down to the beach, and was staring at the waves, when someone came up behind her.
"Hey, wanna go in the water?" Danny asked.
"Sure." Kara said sarcastically. Danny picked her up, and started runnign to the water. "No! I didn't really mean it!" Kara screamed, and he dropped her int he water.
