There have been posters who come in here and try to teach/debate under icons other than the MJ scroll and then switch to stay and have their say and then switch back when they're finished. That's flip-flopping.
There should be a way that when this is done, the posts previous would remain under previous icon, and when they switch back, the posts done under the temporary icon remain under that temporary icon. It would be so easy that way to follow said posters (as they probably do the same thing in other congregational areas too).

Have you gotten in touch with admin with your idea? That would be the logical thing to do.

Actually, I have. What they've done with it, I don't know. Things behind the scenes move slowly. It wouldn't be a big thing to write up a true/false code but the cost may be far more than they want to put into it.....Just no way of knowing what's going on in the "board rooms." ;)

Because I honor the Messianic Only tag, I did not respond to Steve's thread regarding non-Messianic posters. I will post my thoughts here and anyone is welcome to add to them and give their views.

If Jews are not wanted here, simply say so. I left another forum recently when it was made clear by the forum owner I was not wanted there (although I was not told directly "get out", it was very evident from the post). A shame because I was enjoying it. But I don't go where I'm not wanted.

Personally, I enjoy the interactions with others outside my faith. I try to be respectful and stay within the rules, but yeah I probably do stray outside of them on occasion.

It seems to me the non-Messianics here are helping to keep this forum alive. Most people left for a different forum, and if you want to keep this
place going, you need people to post here. Why chase off people who don't cause problems (at least not intentionally, anyway)?

And to be honest Steve, you haven't been around in a long time, and you don't post much. Why is this issue now being brought up? Do you view this as a problem that keeps you from fully participating in the forum?

I agree with you Lulav about the issue of Palestinians and Muslims....and Yonah, it's not a suggestion that we leave. It's being thrown out. Which is okay, people here have the right to do with forum as they see fit.
Just read the MJ-only thread. Chavak you and other Jewish posters are much valued here. You would be missed if you went. I miss how the MJ forums was about a few years back. IMO the less-than-honorable troublemakers will only put on MJ icons to harrass people further here. I've used my report button when I've seen non-MJ's acting contrary to the SoP - I feel that all of us just need to do that more.

But if I've interpreted it correctly, basically Contra, myself and others who have always been respectful and have forged friendships here are not welcome.

Thus I shall respect the wishes of members here and limit my contributions to pm's in future. :(

IMO Chava, you're one of the bright spots. I know what you believe. I don't have to worry that you are going to post some outlandish idea and then freak when someone disagrees. You best better not be thinkin' about bailing on us here.

Thanks Ani, no I am not thinking about leaving voluntarily ;)

Like I said, I left the other forum when it was clear I was not wanted there.
I wanted to make sure the same thing was not happening here.
I'll stick around as long as I am tolerated, LOL.

Sigh.....me too. We used to have terrific conversations back in the "old" days...when things were much more open. I think we actually have much
less strife and issues then than we do now.

Hopefully that is not true.

That would be a shame.

I have pushed a similar idea - a permanent 6 month moratorium on changing icons - for months on here and, although it has been agreed by all posters, the powers that be will not action it for some reason. But we must not debate or criticise staff so our hands are tied on this. All we have had is agreement but no tangible action, thus far.

Changing icons because of a change in personal theology should not be banned.
Changing for the sake of trolling should be.
When I changed mine, I talked to Suzy about it, and she gave me the go ahead.
