Because I honor the Messianic Only tag, I did not respond to Steve's thread regarding non-Messianic posters. I will post my thoughts here and anyone is welcome to add to them and give their views.

If Jews are not wanted here, simply say so. I left another forum recently when it was made clear by the forum owner I was not wanted there (although I was not told directly "get out", it was very evident from the post). A shame because I was enjoying it. But I don't go where I'm not wanted.

Personally, I enjoy the interactions with others outside my faith. I try to be respectful and stay within the rules, but yeah I probably do stray outside of them on occasion.

It seems to me the non-Messianics here are helping to keep this forum alive. Most people left for a different forum, and if you want to keep this
place going, you need people to post here. Why chase off people who don't cause problems (at least not intentionally, anyway)?

And to be honest Steve, you haven't been around in a long time, and you don't post much. Why is this issue now being brought up? Do you view this as a problem that keeps you from fully participating in the forum?

I agree with you Lulav about the issue of Palestinians and Muslims....and Yonah, it's not a suggestion that we leave. It's being thrown out. Which is okay, people here have the right to do with forum as they see fit.

I'm going to repost more or less what I originally posted in the thread started by Steve.

I definitely want all Jewish posters to be welcomed here with open arms. I would miss them terribly if they were no longer welcome.

I also don't mind non-Messianic posters here provided they are at least minimally respectful of our heritage and beliefs.

The only posters I cannot tolerate interacting with are the holocaust deniers who obviously despise us.

I don't think Steve was speaking of you or other Jews, you have been a part of this forum for a long time. It's those that come in with and agenda, usually it's that we can't be Messianic, of late though it's about upholding Muslim rights, which frankly, on this specific forum I don't think should be allowed, considering their feelings towards us. You may not have a Muslim speak ill in front of you but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

I've worked in a small office with a Jew and a Muslim and you could see the animosity (not hear it, but feel it) and it wasn't pretty. It is part of their teaching and to expect them to truly go against it is really not understanding how things really are.

You are most welcomed here. More than welcomed - wanted and needed. And don't let anyone tell you anything differently!!
Thank you, at least here I'm wanted ;)
Just wanted to make sure we were not stepping on anyone's toes or making
the forum unbearable for Messianics :).

I amended my thinking in a later post. Messianic and Judaism icons could post here, but not others.
Thanks for the clarification
Course, this doesn't solve the problem of 'false flag' posters. We just experienced an icon flipper very recently.
that's a problem that I don't know if there is a solution to.

He has clarified things (thank you Steve!). I'm definitely not
a Messianic;) so I fall into the "outsider" group of posters.
you have been a part of this forum for a long time.
That's for sure!

Thank you!
You're more than welcome. Actually, I would think that since our friends in the MJ circles who are seeking to live out Judaism here, and on other forums, or in your private personal places where you might meet them, would want you to be a guide for them? I don't know if I phrased that correctly, but in other words, since you are Jewish, they should seek your input, those who are gentiles, seeking to live as you do. Thanks, Source.

We do. There are a lot of stories that circulate among the MJ sites that are just fictitious. (they don't really have much influence on one's faith thankfully, but it's nice to know the truth of such matters.) No one really knows how/where they start but usually our Jewish brothers and sisters can set us straight on the subject.
I'm sure Chava and Yonah will remember the "napkin" story. It sounded reasonable.....
They are invaluable. What is meant by this?....how do we do that?....what does this Hebrew word mean?....how did the translators come up with this?....(gosh, thinking about it, it sounds like we're that troublesome kid sibling to the teenager trying to come into his/her own....eerrr sorry guys!!!)

I recently changed my icon to the generic "Christian",mainly because I am dual denominational..Anglican and Baptist.
That's the only way I could debate in both forums..that does not make me a flip-flopper, does it?
I'm of the camp that goes by,"Respect others, it will go a long way".

There have been posters who come in here and try to teach/debate under icons other than the MJ scroll and then switch to stay and have their say and then switch back when they're finished. That's flip-flopping.
There should be a way that when this is done, the posts previous would remain under previous icon, and when they switch back, the posts done under the temporary icon remain under that temporary icon. It would be so easy that way to follow said posters (as they probably do the same thing in other congregational areas too).
