That is the one thing I would like the pagan community to have that it seems to lack - a group of knowledgable elders where initiates could go for information and support and wisdom...
My friend and I are thinking about setting up such a system in my area, but we're not sure yet who the right people for the job are.
Isn't that the purpose of our thread my friend?

I helped another trace their ancesterol Cherokee roots...

I'm sorry, but I just couldn't keep this to my self. with all apologies to once upon a time in mexico

Are you a wicCAN or a wicCAN'T?

I found that mildly humourous, but I'm also a fan of puns. I hope someone appreciates the humor. LoL. Anyway, I agree with Smilin. Theres no reason why we can't act as advisors to each other, and help each other.

Here's a question? When do you feel most in touch with the divine? I'm not counting times when you actively seeking the divine, but rather when in the course of the day do you feel divine presence. For me, when I walk across campus at night and the wind passes through the trees and over me, it seems like can can feel Her embracing me. I'd be interested to hear your stories.

This is a poem I wrote a few semesters ago, when i first started to find my path, I just felt like sharing.

Outside I stood one autumn day
When something called me forth.
A smaller step I could not take
Though drawn to nature’s warmth.
Yet once again it whisper near,
“The answers that you seek
Shall soon be found if you can prove
Your heart is not so weak.”

And so I ventured forth a step
As my feet touched unknown land.
The voice again returned to me
“Please offer me your hand,
I shall not lead your soul astray
As others would suggest
I come to offer knowledge
Kindly put your fears to rest.”

So guided forth at once I was,
Nature’s splendor all around.
Then I questioned nature’s spirit
“Is this where God is found?”
But my spirit guide did not reply
And silence filled my ears
For all around me beauty lay
My eyes were filled with tears.

Why had I never seen this place?
Why was I never shown?
The elders never spoke of it
But they must have surely known.
A single word they never spoke
That things could be this way.
They simply read things from a book
And when questioned walked away.

Before I had a chance to speak
I suddenly returned
To the place the journey started
Filled with what I had learned,
And once again the spirit spoke
“I brought you there to see
the difference that lies between
what is and what can be.”

What we (those of my blood) call 'good medicine'..
What others refer to as conicidences...

When events happen unexpectedly that can be taken as signs.

Early night - 10pm-ish to 1am-ish especially fullish moons
Foggy nights and foggy early mornings
Random hot, breezy, misty rain, summer day out in the woods or fields moments

I'm curious, since this website is called: "Christian Forums is a free, non-profit and non-denominational Christian forum community uniting all Christians as one body."

Then why do so many non-Christians come here? Are they looking for answers, maybe are confused on what they believe, or just curious in knowing about Christianity?

I would assume it's a little bit of all...but I was just curious. I'm new here... I'm Christian, and was very surprised to see so many non-Christians posting on this website.

Hey, whatsup, glad to see your curious.

I think its a good place for us Non-Christians to engage in discussion with those who are. Some of us are former Christians (I am). I personally feel that all religions offer insight, so I am here to offer whatever i can from my religion. Also, I think a healthy Non Christian population is important so that Christians with questions for us have easy access.

It's probably the thrill of debating and convincing people (or at least trying to).

Debating: Yes
Convincing: Depends what the topic is. I think we're less prone to try and convince people that we have the right faith than Christians are. But obviously all debating involves some degree of persuasion involved.

Namaste dj,

thank you for the post.

i can only speak for myself in this regard... i ended up here when i was searching for a comparative religion chat, specifically that of Buddhist and Christian. i've stayed because i enjoy learning about other peoples traditions and to try to provide accurate information concerning my own.

Greetings,
You'll discover after a while here that many of us once were Christian.
All within this particular section of the forum aren't confused, (speeking
that I know the majority of the older members. Most are here to
learn of other religions, and participate in discussions on there own
beliefs. Also to avoid misconceptions of Other Than Christian religions.

And welcome...may your stay be enlightening.

.
I'm a lover of God, though follow a path that is not Christian. I come here to learn and test my own beliefs and varify my reasons for moving away from Christianity.

Agreed dlamberth. The past year especially while dwelling here
has reinforced my divergence from Christianity onto another path.

You said that you were a former Christian, what made you change your belief?
