Thank you my new friend. I'll try to study them
this weekend (SNOW IS ON THE WAY...HOORAY..HOORAY)

I usually don't quote Biblical scripture anymore...but one
of my favorites does come to mind here:

Proverbs 25
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Namaste Smilin,

snow, eh? we're supposed to get some as well... just a dusting as it were... nothing too great :(

naturally... if you have any questions, i'd be happy to provide my perspective on the matter.

though you must understand that i am but a simple student and really have very little knowledge or understanding, i am happy to share what i have with any and all that would ask.

By the way, what does "Namaste" mean?
Namaste lifesaver,

Namaste is an ancient Nepali greeting in sanskrit. it's a bit tough to translate literally, however, the best one that i've heard is thus:

"I bow to the divine in you. When you are in that place in you and i am in that place in me, there is but one of us."

Amazing how our beliefs are so similar...utterly amazing.

How are you?
I've seen chili that would make your eyes bleed! :D There's an email forward floating around that describes a Canadian recruited as a judge for a chili-tasting contest and it's not only hilarious, it's also accurate! They should post warning labels on our chili.....;)
I'm doing alright, trying to break out of the world of contract work and into a 'real' job...not to mention trying to get regular internet access....I really miss hopping online whenever I want...:sigh:

I've read that joke...it's been around a while.
Comparison between a Canadian Judge and a Texan
judge at a Texas Chili Cook-off.

And I hear yah...I'm trying to break free of the
same world as you....

Contractors are dawgs...but hey...I love dawgs!:D

Because we forget, of course... actually being nice is seldom a problem here, we're a mostly friendly group.

Like I've got the connections to get SuperBowl tickets...HA! I'd be going if I did! ;)

Namaste SquareC,

i lived in Houston once! the Woodlands, actually :)

oh.. i was there in.. what was it... 92? when the big ice storm hit.... we had pine trees bent to the ground in our yard! it was really quite amazing! that was also, if i recall correctly the year of that big flood that closed the highways and and eventually got as high as some of the overpasses.

:)

what a small world!

Hi, im a new comer. I used to be Roman Catholic, but discovered wicca at age 15, while doing a project on the story of Persephone. It slid into the background but arose again freshmen year of college. Right now I consider myself an ecclectic wiccan who still have much to learn. I'm 20. I have no one to guide my studies, nor any peers that share my interests. I've done a lot of reading, which is a good start, but there are days when I would love to have a mentor or something. I don't know how I came into Wicca; I certainly wasn't converted. I guess I just came to feel Her presence on those long moonlit walks around campus. My campus (Fairfield U.) is has a good deal of "natural" growth on it, and you can find a good cluster of trees to kinda get lost in at night.

That is the one thing I would like the pagan community to have that it seems to lack - a group of knowledgable elders where initiates could go for information and support and wisdom...
My friend and I are thinking about setting up such a system in my area, but we're not sure yet who the right people for the job are.
