ANM29, I have to give you credit. I've never met a universal salvationist who also espouses all the standard rhetoric of the evil Catholic church being pagan. You are a first for me. Nice chatting with you.
Me neither
I have said what I believe and why regarding the torment issue. What else do you want?
You just want someone to debate with, I am already debating with enough people.
Nope, I am not going to debate every single topic that is brought up. Sorry.
Me neither
What the heck is a "protoprotestant". A non-Christian Protestant?

Are Protestants Christians?
I have NO clue what you mean by 'remnant' protoportestants. I have never heard of that before.
All I can say is that eternal torment is deception, it is deception. I could go into more, but I won't right now.
Perhaps a Catholicized form of the word "heretic"?The word itself just does not even look right, maybe he spelled it wrong.
Protoprotestant is the name given to hypothetical sects of early Christians that embraced all of the tenets found in Protestantism. It's an attempt at answering the charge that the ideas of Protestantism showed up in the 1500s, rather than having been present in Christian theology from the start.
The Trail of Blood is an example of such an attempt.
The problem with all of the hypotheses is that they always cite gnostic heretic groups that have an extremely strange set of beliefs far beyond what most Protestants consider orthodox today. They point to these groups and say, "look, Sola Scriptura!" They always forget to also say, "look, Manichaean dualism!" or "look, gnostic asceticism!"

Praying with heretics
Then , according to Orthodoxy , Catholics are indeed heretics
Yeah, I think that is what he is trying to say. Well, I will be a heretic if that is what they want to call me. I am kewl with that, they said the same thing about Jesus.
I guess we all can say that to a certain extent, being that most everybody is considered a 'heretic' by another group of people.
No, still never heard of that before. I don't believe I fit into that group. It is hard to put me in a box btw, most people try and never can. I am glad to be 'unboxable'.
I am just a follower of Christ, somebody who is sold out to him. I have forsaken and given up and lost a lot to follow God. Only he knows the deepest inward parts of me and my heart.
( Yes, I just created that word--unboxable) lol!

I carry the Sword of Truth with pride, even if somone breaks it in half by "falsely accusing" me........

Kinda like Inquisitions and stuff like thatLet's stay away from guessing. It leads to bad places.
Then it comes to my other question: how in the world do you justify your views about the evilness of the Catholic Church introducing "paganism" into Christianity if there wasn't some kind of hidden remnant of "True Christians" keeping the truth alive? Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church. That means the Church will never go away or be corrupted.

What da heck! Why is that thread closed.Kinda like Inquisitions and stuff like that

Inquisition
Well, this is where we differ. I do not believe the true Church is this institution. So,...
That doesn't answer my question. I'm not speaking about any particular institution. Obviously I believe the Catholic Church is "the Church." But that does not matter for this question.
Matthew 16:18: "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
If the gates of Hell will not overcome the church (whatever form it may take), then how do you come to the conclusion that there was Evil deposited into the Catholic Church without there being some kind of remnant hidden Protestant sect throughout the ages?
Is there no history of evil in the Catholic Church?..No history of corruption and deceptions?
Don't trust them, they lost their credibility centuries ago.
Considering a few of their Popes made this list, why am I not surprisedIs there no history of evil in the Catholic Church?..No history of corruption and deceptions?
Don't trust them, they lost their credibility centuries ago.
That still doesn't answer my question.
My question is: If the gates of Hell will not overcome the church (whatever form it may take), then how do you come to the conclusion that there was Evil deposited into the Catholic Church without there being some kind of remnant hidden Protestant sect throughout the ages?
Edit: More accurately, "how do you come to the conclusion that the Catholic Church put pagan beliefs into Christianity [...]"
