  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I suppose if that's the best you can do, I'll take it.

Sure.

I would rather see you call it Noah's Ark, rather than 'an imaginary and impossible object;' but that's your prerogative.

When you show me Biblical support for your "theory", I will say it is Noah's Ark. Before that, I will keep thinking Noah's Ark is what is actually described in the Bible.

It hurts, doesn't it?

No, it really doesn't.

Let's put an end to all this yapping about Noah's Ark once and for all, shall we?

I submit that Noah's Ark was a horizontal TARDIS booth,* which held thousands, if not millions of animals and provender.

What say you?

And for the record, I'm dead-serious about discussing this as I'm submitting it here.

I want to see an end to this bologna about the Ark not being able to house all the animals and food and whatnot, once and for all.

For the sake of this thread, I'm willing to accept what scientists say about the number of species in existence in B.C. 2348.

* A TARDIS booth is a booth or room or whatever, where the inside is larger than the outside. Sort of a gateway to another dimension in space.

And were did the weight displacement from these extrademensional animals go? Because unless there is some method of alleviating that extra weight the ark was going to ride real low in the water (ie under it).

Did you read this stuff out of the bible? Or are you just makin stuff up as you go along!
This one is made up ... just to show that God-can-do-anything explanations are not as sterile as some think they are.

They are exactly as sterile as saying 'pixies did it with magic'. Again, what you've provided is not an 'explanation'.

Imagine what miracle thinking could do then!

Same thing.

That's a very creative idea. Your good. But there was no flood and no ark except for Mother Earth itself.

Theoretical physicists can already bend time and space, and have even figured out deep space travel. Only thing is, its not practical. For example, such feats would require an energy source equalling the mass of an entire planet.

Go figure, right?

Thank you, but I've actually brought it up before:
If that is true, then the size of the Ark would disagree with you, would it not?

Just for fun, assume that the definition of 'kind' is 'billion[sup]2[/sup]' -- and assume the Ark is an 8-digit calculator.

You cannot display a billion[sup]2[/sup] on an 8-digit calculator.

Therefore, either the Ark is a TARDIS booth, or 'kinds' are something other than 'species'.

Connect the dots here.

It looks highly likely that there was no global flood.

Again: this thread is about the inside of the Ark, not the outside.

There's a difference.

I solved the problem of the inside of the ark: its a myth.
.
As evidence: inseparable events outside the ark are a myth too.

I wasn't aware there was a problem with the inside of the Ark.

Perhaps your Ark is a myth?

Not hardly -- but if it's important to you that I think so, I suppose I could fake it.

Only not in this thread.
Your premise here is that the stated exterior dimensions of the ark describe a craft insufficient to house the fauna of the time, stipulating that scientists are correct about species diversity.
.
Thats a problem. You advanced a speculation that would solve it.
.
I proposed a better solution... better in that its consistent with other facts about the the world at the time, and consistent with mankind's well known capacity for creating myths..
