  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You havent been around for too long have you Snakes. ;) :) :D

Not on this particular forum, but I've been around long enough to recognize cowardice when I see it.

I'm involved in too many debate forums as it is, so I've mainly been testing the waters over here. Pretty typical. I've not seen anything that I can't get anywhere else.

I might lurk for a while, but my interest is waning rapidly. Too much ignorance & intolerance, and not enough time.

Thanks for the "hello", by the way. Good luck to you over here.

Yes, I understand that, but the point is, did the old Hebrew word for "bird" include "bat" as well? Did they really not understand the difference between feathered egg-layers and furry mammals?

Yeah, spreading yourself to thin among forums can cause problems. It is pretty typical, especially since DrDino links to this site from his page (its how I found it).

Unfortunatly the responses you have recieved from John seem to be typical for him and it unfortunatly seems to keep some of his well thought out ideas from being read as much. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt after the crash and start talking with him again, but it seems to have wanned.

The one plus I have here is that it often seemed pretty busy but not too busy. I sometimes get board of boards, but the ones that are very busy I cant keep up with and lose interest because it requires hours of reading just to catch up with. :)

I think a few people around here might pay a bit of money for the small miracle of having you actually answer a question.

Actually, the miracles are free. Did you guys ever take the time to look around and notice there are usually at least five of you asking me questions all at the same time? Then you act like I should give you my undivided attention. Then your attitude is that you want to try and prove everything I tell you to be wrong.

There are people on other forums that really are interested in learning the truth and drawing close to God and His love, and there is only so much time available in the day. I did not spend all the years I did, to learn what I learned, just to play these silly games.

mostly because you never answer the question in the first place. you would make life an awful lot easier for yourself if you just answered the question.

you answer questions, but not the ones people ask.

Yeah. Pay me and I will answer the ones you want answered. I remember one guy, he took up an hours worth of my time, to buy a $6 knife. I said how much do you make: He said $30 and hour. Then I said: But you want me to work for $3 and hour to sell you this knife? He said I don't care, just answer the questions. Yeah, right.

Not too sidetrack but often you should be willing to go out of your way for customers because it can help build a business base for returning customers.

Besides, if you make a business by selling merchandise, you really werent making anymore money in that hour unless he prevented some sales with his question.

There were a lot of other problems. I was selling on Ebay and whenever I found something that was a good seller, others would come along and start to sell that item. Esp. I was importing from Hong Kong, then a bunch of people in Hong Kong with computers started to become a lot of competition for me.

But I guess this sort of stuff should be on the Business man's forum.

Can a person just import items from Hong Kong? Without being a company, I mean?

If you can afford to pay the shipping. If you use the postal service you can get an airmail package back and forth between here and Hong Kong in a week or so. It is about 6 weeks by boat.

It is a little bit different to deal with mainland china. They usually will only sell you a $10,000 order and then you have to pay $5000 for a shipping container. But they are happy to make you whatever you want.

We went to a show at the convention center in Hong Kong and we quickly burned out on sensory over stimulation. They had so much stuff there that they were trying to sell.

Customs laws can be strict though. I had a shipment from the Philippines of Balisong knives they confiscated. They check out every fifth package. It was only $100 worth so it was no big deal. I gave them a hard time about it though, because I had them custom made.

When you travel over to Hong Kong you can bring back $500 worth and up to 70 pounds. So I usually hit the night market and pick up some factory over runs at a real low price. Then I sell them here and usually make enough to pay for at least my ticket over there.

Of course when we go to the Philippines we take a bunch of stuff that people usually donate for missions. Christian material, toys, clothing.
