Many of todays species did not exist back then, they are the product of adaptation. For example, dogs, wolves, jackals, dingos, coyotes, etc. are all the product of this adaptation. At that time, only their predecessors existed and these had different needs than today's animals. What temperature were they kept at? Animals with different climatary needs cannot survive at the same temperature. And what about humidity? Desert species would suffer greatly and would be prone to illness.
What I said about animals would also be true of fish. As far as plants go, they didn't have to survive, only their seeds. But what about freshwater fish? And the water would be full of corpses and decaying vegetable matter, hardly the place delicate species of fish could survive in. Not to mention the climate change that would result from a massive downpour, and the salt water would spread everywhere...
And what about plant species? Most would be completely wiped out.
