Birds are not terrible lizards or dinosaurs
Yes, they are.
Ask your average paleontologist who is familiar with the phylogeny of vertebrates and they will probably tell you that yes, birds (avians) are dinosaurs. Using proper terminology, birds are avian dinosaurs; other dinosaurs are non-avian dinosaurs, and (strange as it may sound) birds are technically considered reptiles. Overly technical? Just semantics? Perhaps, but still good science. In fact, the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of birds being the descendants of a maniraptoran dinosaur, probably something similar (but not identical) to a small dromaeosaur.

A few questions, why did God tell Noah to build an Ark? why didn't God just magic one up?
Then it would not have been called Noah's Ark, and Noah would not have made the list in the Bible's Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11).
Why did God need to save animals on the Ark? why didn't God just magic them up again?
What's with the word 'magic'? God doesn't use magic.
The reason these stories sound like childrens stories is because they are stories for children?
Yes -- as my signature verse puts it:

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

And man is not an ape.

Maybe. Maybe not. At the very least, we evolved from them. The intricacies of classifications for living creatures is quite complex. Your one-liner might be a sounds cool high five statement but its rather ignorant.

At the moment we are still classified as a type of primates and birds are not classified as a type of dinosaur.

Homosapiens are not classified as apes but we certainly are primates.

Koalas probably were not on the ark if there was such a thing.

1) Australia is too far and isolated away from the Mideast. Koalas cannot swim long distances; infact no land mammals can swim that long or far
2) Even if Australia was still attached to Asia, Koalas aren't migratory; they are
physically incapable of traveling long distances.
3) They would no doubt be preyed upon by large predators on their migratory march.

It's rather idiotic to believe koalas were Ark animals.

you are right. my mistake.

It should read that some of our earliest non human ancestors were apes

Incorrect. We are members of the Hominidae ("Great apes") family.

The Hominidae (anglicized hominids, also known as great apes[notes 1]) form a taxonomic family, including four extant genera: chimpanzees, gorillas, humans, and orangutans.[1]
