Noah’s “special” problem

You can't prove that they were a different species than humans or apes. You're making a guess.

Perhaps you could show us where the dividing line is here between ape and human. Would you like to have a go?

Psst…parasites ARE animals
No, I wouldn't say so. Any more than men are beasts. Your fantasy factory grouping system is just a belief based doctrine!

Well…if the chapter 7 didn’t contradict chapter 6 we might have learned something….
Like what it was talking about.

Um…excuse me…

I just wanted to pause and point out that a fluke is a parasite
Maybe, but a parasite is no fluke.

Ok….

Back to what you were saying
Leaving the whole question of why bother with the ark in the first place unanswered. If after all God could just *pop* fungi and plants and parasites and bacteria and all the stuff that wouldn’t fit onto the ark back into existence after the flood…why bother with the flood at all? Why not just hit Alt Ctrl Delete and start over?
He had His reasons. Might as well deal with the facts, rather than second guessing God here.

Well I would give credit to the people who made this particular myth up and put it in the bible…but they did such a slipshod job with it.
Misplaced credit.

actaully...a bit more than you have for the whole flood myth being true.
Actually, no, you have none at all. As for how many parasites were here pre flood, I think your knowledge there is limited as well. It comes down to dating things, really.

So what exactly are all those hominid fossils, if not human ancestors?
Depends on the fossil. Either it was human or not. As you know, chimps monkeys and apes etc are the things with the similar skulls.

I know this isnt part of the thread but, my proffesor was telling my class today, if all the glaciers where to melt today the sea level would raise 200ft. Thats a lot. Well anyway she showed us a picture of what it would look like if it did. And florida was gone, Ny was gone, alot of places where under water. It got me thinking, if the glaciers where to all melt during Noahs time, pluse rain that God sent, the world could of been easily flooded. Also the groundwater like guysers and stuff, that would of been part of the flood also.

Except that melting glaciers and water from geysers are not biblical, since only rain was mentioned.

Furthermore, a rise of 200ft does not cover the whole earth. For reference, Mt Everest is 26700ft. Groundwater would not raise that by a lot, and for there to be sufficient rain, you would need to invoke something like a "water canopy", which is physically impossible.

Not true, it was also fountains of the deep, from below.

Now, yes, but can we really say there was no uplift there? Silly old age dating aside, of course.

Of course it is now, but of course the only question here is then, not now. The world was different, and it was possible then.

Unless they were humans, who cares? What kind of monkeyish thingies may have went extinct? There is no reason in this world to think that man did was not created, as all creatures. There is no reason in this world to allow for the old ages required in the fantasy of common ancestor monkey business! That is, except that based on the assumption and belief that the past was as the present, whic cannot be ever more than a belief!!!!
What's left? The fact there is some adapting that has been happening we may know about? So what? That's just the way it used to work, and even now, I think we see a trace of this sort of thing! You have no more links to the apey thingies that lived than you do to cockcroaches.

Indeed. Apparently, it was also possible to make up magical explanations to defend physically impossible assertions and claim them as fact. Such is no longer the case.

No, there was no physical only impossible cause it didn't exist. Since it came to be men made up magical factually impossible fables of what it was like when their rules di not apply. This is why they have no proof and never will.

As if we were not having fun already in the fresh/slat water debate and the “where did Noah put all the insects?” Threads there is another fun animal to consider and ask just hwo it survived on Noah’s ark….

Parasites.

There are several hundred species of parasites that live only in human beings… four types of malaria, two types of tapeworm, , hookworm, trichomanoasis, three agents of filariasis, two species of Schistosoma, pinworm, three types of lice. And hundreds of other human only parasites.

There were, according to the bible only eight human beings on the ark… so how did they take care of the parasites?

It is even more fun when you consider that a significant number of these parasites are sexually transmitted.
I'm glad my fun threads were able to trigger this fun thread. :)

Very good OP!

Who cares?????

Somehow God took care of all of this. Who cares about parisites or fungus. Jesus himself spoke of Noah.

It's precisely that attitude which accounts for why we still have so many human parasites around (other than Hovind I mean).

RE: OP

Could a YEC tell me, without ad hoc responses, I mean really get into some science, how the Guinea Worm could have survived the ride on the Ark given it's reproductive cycle?

In the end faithful believers do not need proof of the flood and any proof offered of a flood would not offer evidence of God to the non-believers.

The Ark is said to be 450ft. long, 75 ft. wide, and 45 ft. high. by many Hebrew scholars. This would have provided over 100,000sq. ft. of floor space.

There are over 1 million of species in the world but when you subtract out any life that could be capable of surviving in water (fish, tunicates, echinoderms, mollusks, coelenterates, sponges, protozoans, some mammals like seals and porpoises, some reptiles like sea turtles and alligators) you end up with somewhere between 35,000 - 50,000 animals required on the ark. Using the above measurements would have easily accomodated the animals.

Wow. Just wow. Something quite quite special there.

And Jad123, that argument's been blown out of the water so many times.

I can't help thinking most of these so-called Creationists aren't just having a bit of a laugh. Nobody in their right mind could come up with this stuff.

The only problem I have is that your brilliant parodies of these feckless logic-contortionist anti-scientists actually camoflage the geniune loony-tunes out there. At some point there needs to be a amnesty where all the parodiers come clean and admit to the prank.

Actually, at this point, I'm less interested about the floorspace, and more interested as to how a 600 year old man built something the size of an Arleigh Burke class destroyer.
