  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The black stone was used as a pagan worship item before Islam. It is still worshiped today be millions of Muslims, who kiss it (or fight among each other to try to kiss it).

They don't worship it. They revere it because of its association with Muhammad and Abraham.

Allat is the goddess to which this stone used to belong to

Someone claimed this on an internet site so it must be true!

This black stone is a "Yoni" (another name for vagina). Worshiping yoni items was very popular in Asia, since they represented fertility.

ROFL. Yoni is a *Sanskrit* word for vagina. What could it possibly have to do with Arabs? Oh yeah, they are all from Asia! (Whereas Jesus Christ was from Dallas, Texas.) But thanks for offering proof positive that you are thoroughly obsessed with sex.

You do realize that the only reason the Black Stone looks the way it does now is that it was stolen from the Kaaba in the tenth century and by the time it was recovered it had been broken up into seven pieces? It was then pieced together the way it is now.

I am sorry if this hurts someone's sensibility, but what can I do if Islam is related to sexual symbols. They are the ones who should be ashamed. Here is a video about the topic.

Oh you found a Youtube video on this, so it must be true. Listen, the narrator even has an accent!

I don't suppose you have any idea what real evidence looks like?

I found that a little odd too. Maybe the guy who did the video is an Indian. I know some Hindus like the Hare Krishnas claim that all religions have their source in India and the Vedas so they try to link every temple be it Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Aztec, to a shiva linga, a goddess yoni or whatnot.

The guy who made the video has a Saudi accent. He is Saudi (or from some of the nations around Saudi Arabia). He is reading from the Islamic texts> I know his work and he is very reliable and knowledgeable. By the way, many Muslims want to kill him, which is not surprising. Killing is the answer to everything in Islam, apparently.

Yes, some argue that Brahma is Abraham and Sarah is Saraswati.

At least those words sound alike!

:D:D:D I'm surprised you mentioned it, Smaneck.
so, partly you aware that the holy scripture of Islam was not original as Muslims always claimed..

No, I am aware that Aisha is supposed to have told this story about the goat. Maybe you missed the part where I indicated I don't regard anything related through Aisha as credible?
The notion that a goat ate a sura of the Qur'an supposedly calling for adulterers to be stoned to death has as much credibility as 'the dog ate my homework.'

LOL. As if you are any authority on who is reliable and knowledgeable when it comes to Islam.

So who is this guy? What's his name, and what are his credentials?
The only evidence he provides is that it looks like a vagina to his dirty mind.

Anyhow, now we know where you are getting your porn from. Same place as everyone else, websites and videos.

......seriosuyl?
SERIOUSLY?

Well, ok...
In modern Hebrew, "peng" is the word used to describe the man's sexual organ. In Danish "penge" means money. Those two words sound alike, so they MUST be related, right?

There absolutely NO etymological connection.....at all.

That guy knows more about Islam than all your clerics. Moreover, he is talking about vaginas just because your religion requires it. You are pagan worshipers, like you've always been. Although I am sure that the religion of the original pagan worshipers of Mecca was more peaceful and humane than Islam.

:) of course I am not, my dear Smaneck..still fresh in my memory how you refuse to accept and believe about the hadith about Aisha in "terminated" thread, with the same reason "because narrated by Aisha"...but you still insist she was teenager even though I supported with another hadith with another narrator(not Aisha) and your brother "in Muhammad faith"(sunrise) did not reject even admitted about her young age.

although, you yourself who said that the hadith not reliable, you had provide some hadith too to support your argument anyway.
its ok, nothing wrong here...
only, its so funny, just like..accept some verses in the Bible and reject the other verses:doh:

To be truthful a Muslim or Bahia must admit that the threat or mention/example of stoning is mentioned in the Quran:

011.091 They said: "O Shu'aib! much of what thou sayest we do not understand! In fact among us we see that thou hast no strength! Were it not for thy family, we should certainly have stoned thee! for thou hast among us no great position!"

018.020 "For if they should come upon you, they would stone you or force you to return to their cult, and in that case ye would never attain prosperity.

019.046 (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"

026.116 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)."

044.020 And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death.

We all know that parts of the Quran are missing.

Just a few clarifications about the "Black Stone" that some seem to be infactuated with. What remains of the stone is 8 small fragments. They are no long touched or kissed except under very rare conditions. there never was any obligation to touch or kiss them

For the past 100 years or so a window was made in the Ka'abah for people to get a glimpse of the stone fragments. It has changed shape several times. The shape is an attempt to shield a viewer from the weather, Sand storm, rain whatever. The shape is funtional not necessarily aesthetic. It seems in recent times some one got a somewhat unflattering view and with a warped mind decided it was a sexual symbol.

Here is a few pictures of how the shape of this window frame has changed over the decades. It is a window frame folks not a symbol of anything

Originally it was gold, but gold proved to be much too soft so Silver has since been used

We all know that parts of the Quran are missing.

Yes stoning is mentioned in the Qur'an as past Prophets were threatened with being stoned. These stories are told in the Qur'an. but no where does the Qur'an command stoning as a means of Punishment.

As the Qur'an is oral, it was of no importance if any written parts went missing. The Qur'an as recited by the Hafiz is the actual Qur'an. the written Qur'an does match what is recited by Hafiz world wide, so it is doubtful any part of the Qur'an went missing. The writings of the scribes may have vanished. But the Qur'an was always intact with the Hafiz.

Any writings of the scribes that vanished or were eaten by a goat, never were a part of the Qur'an as the Hafiz never memorized them.

LOL. You can't even tell us his name, let along his credentials.

Personally I don't value the opinions of Muslim clerics. I'm a Baha'i, remember? By 'credentials' I was looking for *academic* credentials which might establish his credibility in these matters. But it is pretty clear from that vid that he is nothing more than an Islamophobic Christian evangelist.

Moreover, he is talking about vaginas just because your religion requires it.

Really? Surely you can produce the texts in my religion which require this?

You are pagan worshipers, like you've always been. Although I am sure that the religion of the original pagan worshipers of Mecca was more peaceful and humane than Islam.

They were probably more peaceful and humane than you are, in any case.

"It's on a random website on the Internet, so it must be true!"
:D

No serious scholars subscribe to this nonsense. And the example I gave is actually better than this.
It's factually wrong, and intellectually dishonest. There isn't a shred of truth in it.

For starters:

- IF you wanted to write "Brahma" in masoretic Hebrew, you would not write "BRHM", because there's an extra sound after the "M" (the "a"-sound), and written Hebrew NEVER ends like the above if there's an extra syllable. It would have been BRHMH, or with an ayin instead of the "h".
Then again: IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BRHM, BECAUSE BRHM IS ENGLISH!

- It would have required, at minimum, a connection between ancient India and ancient Mesopotamia that JUST WASN'T THERE. No etymological connection between the names, no linguistic connection (completely different language families), no cultural connection, only the very basic of similarities (polytheism and a do-ut-des-perception of the gods), etc.

- The claim that Ishmael lived in India is downright hilarious. Especially with the reason given: Havilah is supposed to be India. But Havilah was most likely somewhere on the Arabian peninsula, or the Sinai. It certainly was not India. The reason? Havilah's location!
וַיִּשְׁכְּנוּ מֵחֲוִילָה עַד שׁוּר אֲשֶׁר עַל פְּנֵי מִצְרַיִם בֹּאֲכָה אַשּׁוּרָה
translation:
"And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which borders on Egypt, going towards Asshur"

(bolding mine)
It takes one of the stupid Americans that give other Americans a bad name by not knowing even the basics of geography, to say that India borders on Egypt

I could go on and on and on debunking that nonsense, but frankly I have neither the time nor the inclination, to dabble anymore in manure than I need to.

I do not know of any Muslim who claims the Qur'an is original. We believe it is the same message that was given to all Prophets, Adam, Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace be upon all of them) it does not contain anything that was not revealed in the past.

It is the last time it will be given to us, and our last chance to not mess it up again.
