  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It was modern medicine which is largely to blame for people coming to believe that they didn't need God any more.

As doctors are currently the third leading cause of
death, I think I'll stick with God. Add in prescription
drugs and vaccines, and I bet they hit #2.

Quoting the Bible to prove the Bible is just circular reasoning. You need a lot more than that. From your reply it appears that you either did not read or did not understand your own holy book.

Then deal with the second paragraph. My words.

You mean this:

"There are plenty of apologetics sites that deal
with any argument you can dig up on an anti-bible
site. If you genuinely have a new one, though, I'll
take a look"?

Apologetics sites make me laugh a bit. They are literally apologizing for the errors in the Bible. I don't find hardly any of their arguments valid.

Yes, I know what the word means. It is more than a little bit ironic that they are actually apologizing for the errors in the Bible.

Apologetics deals with science too, chief.

Have they apologized for Thalidomide, yet? L'Aquila? Deepwater Horizon? Chernobyl? LSD?

Sorry, you are confused again. But thanks for openly admitting it with your first subject.

For a time. Then we are awakened for judgment,
there to either eternal life or to eternal death.
Why on earth would you believe something like this? I mean it, why would you believe this? I honestly do not understand why you would [or could] believe such a thing.

You can depend on God or you can depend on man. Sooner or later man will disappoint you and let you down. God is always faithful and true and He is always there for us.

The Bible talks about annihilation or total destruction and that is what agnostic and anti theists believe. The Bible calls this the lake of fire or the second death. People simply get the first death confused with the second death. Not everyone will be destroyed, some will inherit eternal life. So not everyone is subject to the lake of fire and the second death.

I asked why you would believe an old book written by people who knew less than you do? the people who wrote the bible believed in demons, dragons, magic and ghosts, do you? BTW it would explain a lot if you say you do.

Does that mean you don't have a new argument
that hasn't been debunked on a dozen sites?

Because we are not random creations. We were
made for a reason by a God who loves us.

No, it means that those sites can't refute my arguments. But they are good for a laugh or two sometimes. The desperation of some of them is hilarious.
