No Fear of Islam

There's a lot of panicky stuff out there about Islam and muslims.

Where is this fear coming from? Is it not coming from the Evil One?

Jesus said the only thing we should fear:


Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Mat 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
Mat 10:24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
Mat 10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
Mat 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Mat 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Mat 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
Mat 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Mat 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Rallying the people around a flag, grabbing guns, and declaring a Holy War (Christian vs Islam) is not the way of Christ.

What I fear is people who make them out to be the worst human beings on the face of this earth, who all deserve to die. Yes, there are extremist Muslims, surely not all are. What is it, that makes Christians thirst for another man's blood? Aren't we Christians? Wasn't Jesus called "The Prince of peace?"

Some of it is pure raw fear-just being scared.

Some if it is fear of losing a particular lifestyle--maybe the American Christian Life has become something of an idol.

Some of it is ideological--my belief is right and yours is wrong and wrong is evil and evil must be destroyed if it seeks to destroy good.

Some of it is hate--you want to hurt me & mine so I'm going to hurt you & yours.

Don't see Jesus in any of this...
