Consider that in the entire existence of mankind, starvation has been the perpetual haunt.
Hunger drives us, always, every day. Getting food is why we work and what we look forward to.
That powerful urge, a tremendous motivation, a constant awareness of "eat" where, what and when.
Then consider.
In all of man's history, eating bugs has never been a consideration of any consequence.
Many cultures have snacked on bugs, a minor, very minor item in any culture's diet.
That means that bugs for some reason are not a good source of nutrition.
A curiosity or absolute starvation diet, nothing more.
If bugs were good to eat, mankind would be tending them with the same care as man bestows on row crops, fruit/nut trees and cow critters.
