  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In my city and county no serious attempts have been made in the past 50 years to improve water quality despite millions spent by dozens of agencies that spring up like weeds when the money comes down for researching the problem as a result of public outcry. Many local officials campaign on the issue only to forget it as soon as they are elected.

Did you completely ignore all the other far more common methods of smuggling in drugs? Not to mention that those "mules with backpacks" come in at border crossings, not the middle of nowhere.

The mules cross where the cartels tell them to cross.

Again, you can't have a "de facto official" language. The very concept is a contradiction in terms.

English is the primary or most common language in the US. Anyone who thinks it is the official language is wrong.

This is so wrong I can't believe you're serious. You can't really believe that the weight of a boat alone is what causes it to sink. If that was the case, no boat would ever float.

When the weight of the boat + plus the weight of the water in the boat, overcomes the displacement of the hull, the boat sinks.

Then we're spending $25B - $70B to stop less than 1% of illegal drugs coming into the country. Do the cost/benefit analysis.
