CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Baltimore defeats Denver 38-35 in double overtime to get to the AFC championship game. Will it be in Foxboro or Houston?

First, a big congratulations for all the Ravens fans out there! I knew Denver wasn't going to have an easy job of beating them, and wow, what a game that was!! I loved it. I didn't think Denver was a SB team.
Also a big congratulations for all the Falcons fans! Seattle did make it a very interesting game at the end though, lol!
Yeah the Packers broke my heart. I just don't understand that defensive game plan at all! It's too bad because with the right game plan they could've won that game. And what was with all those muffed punts and kick offs? IMHO, 49ers do look like the team for this year and predict an SB win. I'm going with the hot team to win the AFC and that would be the Ravens.
Any thoughts, arguements, disagreements?

I didn't watch the game but the Pats won it with a score of 41-28. At least no one really expected Houston to win, the Packers on the other hand, UG!!!
I'm over it now though. Say, when does MLB Spring training start anyway?

Well, I was hoping the SeaHawks and the Broncos would advance, but that didn't happen...so I guess I'll pull for the Ravens and Ray Lewis, and hope he gets to go out on top!

Somewhere I saw someone terribly concerned about the league's injustice for allowing Tebow to celebrate by dropping to one knee in prayer, while no one else could celebrate that way. This past weekend I saw someone (not Tebow) celebrate on one knee. Whether it was in prayer or not I have no idea but if so it was not overt. Anyone concerned about that issue should consider that a victory

Well, my prediction: The 49ers win this game. Why? Distractions. The Raven's linebacker, Brendon Ayanbadejo, has tried to use his spotlight to bring a personal political issue to the fore. This distraction will undoubtedly take away the emotional momentum of Ray Lewis' retirement!

Yeah I think they're a 3.5 point favorite right now. For Ray Lewis I hope the Ravens win, but distractions are the killer of momentum!

For me this isn't about Ray winning another one. Ray already won a ring so I don't care whether he wins another one or not. There are alot of players who I'd love to have one ring but don't. No, for me this runs deeper.
In the 1980's I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Ord CA. That was right between Monterry, Carmel, and Salinas. About 100 miles south of San Francisco. As you can imagine, 49er mania was running very high at that time. Being a Packer fan was especially hard on me because, well, the Packers sucked throughout the 80's and the 49er fans never let me forget it. No, I can't ever root for the 49ers, not even if Jesus Christ himself was playing QB for them! I'm serious, I don't like them.
