  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

After an intentional safety by the Ravens, the 49ers had no time to run a play. Ravens are the 2012 Superbowl Champions. Congratulations Baltimore! Well played, and good bye Ray Lewis, you had a very good career and get to go out on top.

I think the 9ers look like the favorite. Here's hoping for a good game!

See, what'd I say? I didn't get to watch the game til after the power outage and it was ALL 9'ers. That means they won, right? :D

So how'd they lose? Good thing I have play by play here to review ...

Did Kapernick's interception turn into a TD?

Presenting an argumentative opinion as a fact is biased no matter how you slice it.

No, it was a simple observation. When a receivers jersey is stretched so you can't see his number, and his shoulders are turned by the defender, its holding. As I said, I'm not a 49ers or a Ravens fan. It was a very good game to watch.

After a bad no call on a blatant defensive holding call, its 1st and 10 Ravens on their own 5.
Reminded me of the no call of the blatant defensive pass interference the 9ers should've been flagged for at the end of the NFC Championship Game against the Falcons. With that penalty the Falcons probably win. Look, in these types of games the officials will allow somethings to go unpunished and will let the players play the game. And it wasn't like the reciever wasn't pushing off at all. Even Phil Simms said that they could've seen that as a penalty as well.

IMH and biased opinion, the flag could've been thrown but because it wasn't I'm very happy! If anything, maybe off-setting penalties and replay the down.

Also, I was listening to ESPN radio today at work and most of the "experts" were saying that the oficials might not have thought the ball was catchable, or that the reciever probably wouldn't have been able to catch the ball with both feet inbounds anyway. My unbiased opinion is that they are most probably right about that.

Close man, close. But you didn't think that the Ravens would intentionally put up 2 for the other side, nor that they'd lose 3 messin' around instead of taking a field goal. (Which I didn't get to see; what was that about?)
LOL, it had all the makings of a blow out by the Ravens, in which I would've been way off. That darn power outage helped the 49ers get back into the game.

It was a fake field goal. The Raven kicker ran with the ball but ended up 1 yard short of the first down. 49ers then got the ball on their own 6 yard line.

It wasn't a pick 6 but the Ravens did drive down the field and scored a TD.

That was my first thought upon seeing the play live, and I'm no expert. With every replay I tied to envision the intended receiver hauling it in for an in-bounds catch, and never could. I can't form a strong opinion on this, but I think that ball was un-catchable given that both feet need to land in bounds for it to count.

True, and I agree, but like you said, at the very least they replay the down. Let them play clean, and call what is there. *shrug* either way, I think the Ravens stop another attempt, I just wanted to see a cleanly refereed game.

And I agree with you that this was a very good and exciting game. Whenever the SB can have you on the edge of your seat till the last seconds run off the clock, it's a great game! I would'nt call it the best ever, there's been so many great SB games, but it's up there amongst the best I've ever seen.
