ForeverSeekingLight,
I can totally relate to your situation, as I have always been looked at as the "goody 2-shoes" of the family that does not wrong. I have a lot of pressures in my life though and I had a VERY rough year (probably my toughest) yet that got me so down that I felt I needed to go to counseling. My couselor said that anti-depressants could aid me in recovering from the depression so I first tried Zoloft, which was a disaster - made me so sick to my stomach. Then I tried Prozac, which is what I am on now and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I also suffer from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) but it wasn't as bad as the depression. I am happy to announce that I've been on the anti-d's for over two months now and I hardly have ANY OCD symptoms and I have an increased sense of well-being, can concentrate better and hardly ever get down to the point where I am in tears. It's helped me focus on the things that are important in my life and put the rest in God's hands- and FORGET about it. I hope and pray that you, ForeverSeekingLight, will be able to receive the same results as me or even better. Are you seeking counseling as well? You can pm me if you'd like anytime. I check on this site a few times a day. I've only been a member a week and a half and I love it here! There is tons of support from people that are going through the same thing you are. You are definitely not alone! I hope you get the support you need. You are in my prayers!
P.S. I'm starting school again
on Jan.9 to study to get my
bachelor's degree in teaching too!
I am studying to be a reading specialist
in elementary schools. Very excited about
that!
