If you look under the User CP link in the NavBar, there is a new link called Custom.

This is basically a User Customizer, where you exchange your blessings for different special features.

For the moment, these are the special features available:

1. Bless
2 Change custom user title
3 Username glow
4 Username font
5 Username color
6 Username size
7 Username bold
8 Username italics
9 Post font
10. Post color
11. Post size
12. Chat font
13. Chat color
14. Chat size

Each will use up different amounts of blessings.

Enjoy!

Please report bugs here just in case!

Hey! This stuff used to be free in the profile! ;) That's inflation for ya! lol

Anyway, I think all this new stuff is cool.

In the profile, or the options, we can set what we want our post font and post color to be.. is it possible to add a feature that will also set it to automatically be bold or italicized?... I'll pay for it :p

Yes, I think it is better to be able to change user titles and name effects (glow, bold, etc.) without paying blessings. I won't be paying for these things, but I made use of them for free, and that makes things less "plain and vanilla." I really don't see how anything is improved by making people pay for those things, and it does make things worse at the very least by irritating people.

Maybe some things like changing user title or changing the glow stuff, and even changing signatures, avatars, and user pictures, should be based on post count. Once you've reached a certain post count, for example, you get to have a sig/glow name, and so on.

Like I said, we've always had this - it was only after our database crash a year ago, that I've not had time to add it back. I've only just found the time to recode and add it back.

I love most of the new features, like the Pets and the Jobs. (Although the CF Pets would be even cooler if there were a horse! ;) ) They're awesome. Thanks, Erwin!

I don't see a problem with having to pay blessings for some of the options. The reason is because this is an awesome messageboard and it's free... But it's got to cost a lot to pay for all the bandwidth this board takes up. I think it's reasonable, in order to get extra features, to donate some money and be a Site Supporter. (I want to donate something as soon as I can figure out how to get a Paypal account.)

Anyway, just my $0.02. :)

Hey Erwin, I know you do alot already, but if it's not too much coding, could you add something to the options so that you can automatically have bolded or italicized font in posts instead of having to use the tags each time?
Hmmm..I can do that I never have to add tags... What browser do you use? On mine, for bold, italic, underline and a whole lot of other stuff it looks like the top of MS Word.

Yeah, mine looks like that too... but if you click the edit profile or edit options, can't remember which one, you can automatically set your font to be whatever name, color, size.. and you just type in the reply box and it does it all for you.. If you wanna bold it you have to press the big B button, or use and [ /b] tags surrounding the font... it should be easy to include that as an option to automatically bold posts that you make...

I really can't afford to donate to this site. I've done it a couple of times in the past when i've had a few extra pounds, but i can't do it on a monthly basis. Paying using blessings for things like armour is great - a bit of fun for those who want to do it, but currently i'd have to make at least 1500 additional posts in order to make my username and user title look like they did before. There's a difference between enhancing the site for dedicated users, and making the site less accessible for those who don't spend quite so much time here, and to be honest these recent changes move it towards the second option. Don't get me wrong though- i love these recent changes and am saving blessings up in the bank for perhaps one or two cool items...or maybe a pet, but it is too much asking members to make either hundreds of posts or donate to the site in order to change the colour of their username. It's a good job i asked for my username to be changed a couple of days ago- otherwise i would have had to make 100000 posts just to change it.

EDIT: Also just a thought, but the reason i always loved the blessing system was that it was on the whole pointless. I could give my blessings freely to whoever i wanted and not really care cause they didn't matter- they were something i could give anomonously and hopefully make the receiver happy for just a moment. Now everyone seems to be saving or banking there blessing to buy cool things to supplement their posts. Is that really what CF is about? I would be intrigued to see figures showing how much people have actually blessed other people over the past few days

The new things don't bother me that much, but I would like it, and use it if it didn't cost so much. I think this will promote people to spam more often. I understand trying to get people to donate money to CF, but even donating 50 dollars to CF can't buy some of the things you offer!

I say do what you want with it, but I wouldn't be opposed to lowering the prices a bit ;)

I have given out thousands and thousands of blessing before..now I'm afraid to give them to anyone...now blessigns don't mean as much anymore..because people are hoading them...I'm afraid to give mine out..incase I want to get something..then won't get any back...and can't ask anyone for some or I can get in trouble....I shouldn't have even bought anything from the stores...I'm selling everything back but the engagement ring

Snowy's and other's comments just reinforce my negative feelings toward the CFShop. I can understand the armor and stuff like that costing, but little dinky things like putting a glow around your username and changing the font and size and stuff like that. It should be free, IMO. You start charging people blessings for EVERYTHING, and it'll put a huge line marking the popular folks from the not-so-popular. So CF USED to be like this. Big deal. It seems that far more people liked it the way it was just prior to the re-emergence of the 'Everything-costs' idea.

I may be a noob compared to a lot of you, but I feel it was nicer not having to worry about hordeing blessings just to be able to change a little thing on your post window. In fact, I thought it was a stretch charging blessings just to have a custom avatar or a signature, but I got over that. This however... just seems to drain most of the fun out of this place. Most of the individuality will be garnered by the more popular folks. Not shy noobs like myself, who take a while to get decently well-known.

I ask that the idea of the CFshop be reconsidered. If it can't be done away with, at least make the prices less... exclusive to us less-popular (or less wealthy as far as being able to donate so much) folks. We're trying to have fun and be orignal here too.

Hello Erwin,

I do not like the new feature of how we have to have blessings to make our name the way it was when it was free. With all these things that have been added to use blessings, it is going to hurt the "poor" in blessings because they won't be able to have cool looking names or cool sounding user-titles. I liked CF before we had to buy everything with our blessings. I think the people giving blessings to other people will not happen as often and it looks like the people that are "greedy" with their blessings will get everything... Whereas Jesus tells us not to be greedy...

Just my opinion, please don't take any of my opinions as offenses...
