We opened a new outreach area for the Jewish Community. The JCC forum is now open for fellowship: Jewish Community Center

One of the forums will be started strictly for answering questions about faith in Jesus/Yeshua.

For those who wish to answer the questions in the new "Ask a Jew - What's Nu?" forum :

      • Those who answer the OP’S question must be Messianic Jewish, or Jewish Christian.
      • They must have been raised within the traditions of Judaism AND be a believer in Jesus/Yeshua
      • As well as be affiliated with a Christian or Messianic body of believers.

***Anyone can ask a question though.....
The other area will be for Fellowship for all.

    "Messianic Jewish, or Jewish Christian"

Then you will have Messianics and Protestants competing.

A person will ask them a question, and the Messianics will reply one thing, and the Protestants something else.

Then the Messianics and Protestants will argue with each other, as to why one answer is better than the other.
    Is this intentional ?

Interestingly, it appears many or most of the Jews using this forum are actually Protestants (of Jewish birth), and now these Protestant Jews are basically getting their own forum.

    Not criticizing, just observing.

If you are Jewish please let me know...we also have a rule not to debate other's in there...the point is to show them Messiah not give them a degree in Theology or help them amass all kinds of knowledge

Still I appreciate your concern because it will keep us alert and watchful:)

I'm game. After talking with my own Jewish brothers last night for coffee and getting ready for Passover, I'd be up for that..

I began keeping the weekly Sabbath while a teenager.

I had been an Atheist until I heard the TV lectures by Mr. Garner Ted Armstrong. Before I was twenty years of age I was also attending a Christian Festival of Tabernacles. Technically.... I would be termed Messianic Gentile rather than Messianic Jewish.... but I am in contact with Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander and I am somewhat aware of the Noahide rules.

Once a branch of the Noahide Movement is clearly made available to believers in Messiah Yeshua - Jesus I will probably be involved with it if possible.

I am actively promoting Christian support for the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Third Temple. When Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus stated....."oh fools and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken" it certainly seems that he might well have been encouraging Messianic Gentiles and Christians and Messianic Jews of this time period to agree with the Orthodox Jewish community on the need for the rebuilding of the Third Temple.

Some of the words of Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus could imply the Revelation 20 New Jerusalem coming down around the year 3030 and perhaps the Ezekiel 40 - 48 temple being built as soon as 2030???

I cannot promise to have great answers.... but I can pass on valid questions from both Messianic Jews as well as from Orthodox Jews.

I think that the focus is for Jews to talk to Jews about their faith in Yeshua. It might help if there was something stated to that effect ... Jews bringing Jews to Yeshua... and the importance of personal relationship with Him... rather than doctrines of each branches of faith available... I think the purpose of this part of the forum should remain key to the reasons for conversation... Just a thought... I will be praying for those there seeking answers.. and those giving answers... May it bear fruit in His name.

I just joined and by chance I happened to have been raised Orthodox Jewish, so I am fairly knowledgeable about Jesus in a Jewish context. I don't identify with any Jewish Messianic movement (I'm inclined to suppressionism myself); though my Jewish roots undeniably have an impact on how I perceive theology. I can read the bible in its original Hebrew and am also familiar with the talmud and some other books of Jewish law. My display name shows a specific affinity towards St Paul the Apostle, as it's rather interesting to see his views and writings in light of his rabbinic inclinations.

I was made aware of this forum by a notification right after having signed up! - I would love to contribute and help!

OK well we thought we had enough interest (enough Jewish bodies) to bless the site with a little corner just for them to fellowship and share closeness with brothers and sisters who are now believers in Jesus/Yeshua.

Instead we got many more requests to open the forum for fellowship for all and then just keep the questions and answers forum for Jew to Jew....So the development team knows this and now so do you all :)

We still want to keep this forum from becoming a theological discussion forum only....and we still really believe that Jews need to connect to their Brothers and Sisters who are in Christ/Messiah..... But we are opening the forum to all for the purpose of fellowship, love, blessing, and knoshing :)

I am going to keep this thread open for questions but not a sticky anymore...

If you know of any good Jewish Christian or Jewish Messianic Rabbi's/Pastors/Teachers who have congregations who would like to invest a few hours a week here in this new forum please let them know to contact me ok:)

Tishri: is it still a rule that if a bonafied Judaism Jew asks a question that only an approved Messianic Jew or Christian Jew who was raised in Judaism may answer? (I'm assuming so, but I just think it needs to be said one way or the other.)

    Welcome brother.

I'm not familiar with Suppressionism. Did you mean Supersessionism?

Can you describe what that is/would be like? And how it is similar and different from the Church?

I term myself a "Messianic Gentile" and I have been researching the
question of the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Third Temple for about four
    decades off and on.

Is it appropriate to post a link into the Jewish Community Center back to this
topic that I began on the Controversial Christian Theology forum:

Should Christians support Rebuilding of Jerusalem Third Temple.

Poll: Should Christians support Rebuilding of Jerusalem Third Temple.

    .......

What I am wondering about is if these verses indicate that
the Apostle Paul was far far far far more close to Rabbinic Judaism than
we Christians tend to imagine at this time?

    Acts 18:18

"And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews."

    ......

    Act 21:18 - 26

"And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.

And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:

And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.

    Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;

Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written andconcluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them."

    ..........

Also..... Mary and Joseph offered sacrifices in the Second Temple didn't they?

How might this affect Orthodox Jewish and Christian dialogue over the coming decades and
    centuries?

    Luke 2:22 - 24

    "And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."

not all jewish Christians and MJ's have been raised within traditions of Judaism I a m MJ but most of my life till definitely this year I didnt even nor my family know we were Jewish I know nothing really about anything jewish no hebrew, no food no traditions other than what is in the bible and a follower of Yeshua/ Yehushua . Could you take into consideration those who havent been raised in traditions of judaism (and I would like to learn about some jewish traditions but itll take time )as long as like stated in the MJ forum we dont i forget the words emphasize christian denominations the non believer jews would be missing out on our input . sorry to make it tricky

I understand and If it were easy all the time we wouldnt need to be told to be one body..... But What you need to consider and ask yourself here is do I have enough history here to walk a fellow Jew through their own customs and beliefs into a working knowledge of faith in Messiah (Yeshua). Can I help with the big questions they have?

Or... should I begin a discussion along the same line here in this forum?

I am getting some really good answers to this topic over in that other forum.....
I term myself Messianic Gentile but I was introduced to Hebraic Roots Christianity by the time I
was twelve years old. I had been an Atheist until that time.

I know that I know that I am not fully qualified to answer any question like this....
but I have read enough to at least help people to think about this. This is one of those
topics that will be especially interesting to observant Orthodox Jews due to
this being an area where, as a Christian, I am sincerely wondering what aspects of
Judaism I should perhaps learn to do better myself.

From my contact with Orthodox Rabbis I am wondering if they will begin a branch of
the Noahide Movement where some of us would fit in quite well.

I honestly don't know for sure what you mean by "close the thread?"

I was thinking more along the line of some questions in that thread getting
responses from somebody who knows more about this topic than I do.

This same topic can be introduced in a different way over in the new Jewish Centre Forum....
    which one would be best?

I have campaigned for public office four times already.

I have ran into ideas on how my nation Canada and America can cooperate with the nation of
    Israel in some huge ways........
    and I mean huge......

For example, about a hundred miles from where I live is The Bay of Fundy where the
world's highest tides are produced. Where I live, about five kms from a beach, the difference
between low tide to high tide is only about one meter. Along parts of the Bay of Fundy,
the difference is over 15 meters!

The question that is on my mind is.... if a significant part of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet were to
crack and slide rapidly into the Antarctic Ocean... and if ocean levels were to rise by merely
thirty centimeters, one foot..... would parts of the Bay of Fundy experience an increase of
    15 X that amount?????

    30 cms x 15 = 450 cms or 4.5 meters....

Every cubic meter of ocean water that is desalinated and added to the water table of
Israel or Jordan or any other nation... is very good news for people living along the
    Bay of Fundy!

The nation of Israel donated astonishing solar desalination technology to the nation of Norway so that
Norwegian political leaders, scientists and educators could share that technology with the Islamic world.

If you google the Sahara Forest Project you will be impressed by what has already been done in
    Jordan and Qatar.

I am a member of Canada's Conservative Party who has proposed the printing up of
a Conservative Party Volunteerism Hour or Dollar.... and I specifically explained how
it could be used to greatly increase trade between Canada and Israel.......
Isaiah chapter 35 just happens to predict a more effective way of climate stabilization
    than a carbon tax......

    Isa 35:6,7

"Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in
the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

"And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water:
in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes."

So my question is...... can I get a discussion going here where Christians and Jews.....
can discuss mutual cooperation on some huge issues.....
that certainly seem to have some answers in scriptures that we both recognize?

I am talking about Christians learning from Jewish scriptures... and Israeli technology
and applying both in a manner that is win - win - win.

Or..... should I confine something like this to other forums such as:

Turning deserts green and saving New Orleans and Florida...

Turning deserts green and saving New Orleans and Florida...
