Jesus said Jerusalem would be trodden down of the gentiles, until He came back.
It's what is called: "The times of the Gentiles."
But the Crusaders thought they would jump the gun and liberate Jerusalem themselves.
Crusaders: "Don't worry, Jesus. We'll handle this."
And they got a wake-up call.
Just like the Israelites did when God said they would wander in the wilderness for forty years because of their unbelief.
They had a quick change of mind and entered the Promised Land gung-ho.
And got a reality check.
Numbers 14:40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.
41 And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.
42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.
44 But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.
45 Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.
History repeated itself with the Crusaders.
Hypocritical academia will credit the Crusades as a Christian undertaking, just because the undertakers said they were doing it in the name of God; but won't do the same with the Boston Tea Party crusaders, who dressed themselves up as Indians.
Let Hitler put on a belt buckle that says GOTT MIT UNS, and academia thinks he was a born-again Baptist.
But let the violent Sons of Liberty dress head-to-toe as Native Americans, and academia sees through it.
You couldn't pay me to go to college today.
I'd kill myself first.
