  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ya want to talk "rare"??? ... I've had Steak Tartare, and lived to tell the tale! ;)
I had a nephew living with me (feeding teenage boys - yikes!) who would grab a handful of raw ground beef from the counter while I was defrosting it. Ugh ...

What is that Bulgarian dish using raw mince? I think I'll pass on that.

Ok, I need to quit reading the food talk here. I read that as a Bulgarian dish using raw MICE!

During Fasts in Orthodoxy, we have to pass on just about everything. I've come to the conclusion that three things are basically true about our fasts:

a) I gain 5-7 lbs from the blasted carb-heavy starchy nature of the whole thing
b) All we can eat is cardboard
c) I REJOICE like nobody's business when they're over! LOL

I'll pass on that too!

Okaayyyyy .....

Maybe because it's too close to my former field, in a way it's not-funny (obviously as a scientist I had no sense of humor!) but the loose ambiguity of the caption makes it funny.

Gah! In some aspect I'm still one of "those people" who would have to have jokes explained to me. Which means I'm laughing more at myself than your meme!

But I clicked "funny" anyway. :D

And for the levity challenged :

See you later alligator
It is one of the informal ways of saying goodbye to someone. Apparently, this phrase has been derived from a 50's pop song. The person to whom this phrase is being said, says- 'In a while crocodile!'
Mark: See you later alligator!
Janet: In a while crocodile!

Now that one I'm well familiar with and have often repeated. Except I may have misheard. I thought it was "after while Crocodile!" I've even heard the song. :D

Reminds me of the other day. I was sitting at the table with Father and his toddler son was a bit restless. Father asked if the boy wanted his phone and he said, "yes!" I'm assuming Father locked something but handed it to him, and this tiny boy set right to work clicking icons, scrolling down, finding what he wanted, choosing music to dance to, and so on.

Amazing. I bought a computer for my daughter when she was just past 3 and was amazed how quickly she learned to use it, but this boy is quite a bit younger than that.

Picked up elsewhere - but I like it ;)

Phoned a helpline & all I got was a series of clicks. Found out later that my call was recorded for training porpoises.
Had to read that one twice (and catch the spelling) to get it. LOL!

I do NOT recommend this lol ... maybe it only struck me as funny because of the sheer outrageousness of the idea. Shock value, you know. That and my phone crashes every time I try to grab the ones I want to share from my page. :D
