I well remember the time [ actually the first time ] I saw a censor being 'swung' was in the Romanian Orthodox Church in London - as I said to my GodPapa after wards - I've seen the glowing charcoal in the censor for the very first time . Yup it had been swung waaaaay above the priest's head

yes, when you cense on the last movement, you move your wrist in a circle, so the censor smoke comes out parallel to your previous swing, making the smoke form a cross.

My dad made that cartoon while he was a student at Saint Vlad's. I animated it as best I could without adding additional frames of my own devising. Saint Vlad's had some flamboyant censing back in the late 70s....

its 6 am and am awake drinking coffee and reading posts anyone else up at this time ?
got a busy day today going a service at the local hospital then i have an art group kinda not been at this art group for a while never know what art to do want to do something nice a lot of time over it but normally i do something for 5 mins then i bin it as i think its not so good see if i can take my time over my art work
