  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It looks more like a lamb than a kid to me.
It does but it made me laugh. They can be hard to tell apart in some breeds though. But it reminds me of my Amelia who I did not buy exactly on impulse but she was an add on. We put her in the front seat for the drive home with others in the trailer. I kept her in a large cardboard box in the house for a couple of weeks. As a result when she got older, she followed me like a puppy and would try to slip in the door into the house. I know people who have allowed goats into the house, but she was destined for the barn as soon as she was big enough not to be hurt or killed by being there.

She was a very sweet and very tough little thing. Always gave me boy babies though, except one, which isn't very helpful in milk goats.

That's adorable... and her name was Amelia, I don't know why, but that makes her even cuter.

Actually, you're right. ;)

She was named for Amelia Earhart. The reason being ... she was a mixed breed milk goat. Nubians have large, floppy ears, but she had a touch of Oberhasli, a breed with short, erect ears (a young buck crawled under a fence lol, which made her extremely cheap to buy), and as a result, she had what goat folks call "airplane ears". Large and often sticking straight out to the side like wings on an airplane. Rather expressive and comical-looking she was, and so ... Miss Amelia. :)

I had forgotten that part until you mentioned it. :)

Well, now I wish you had a photo of her.

That was certainly a perfect name for her!

I'm sure I do. Getting them out of my old phone might be a bit of a trick. I need to do that anyway. I'll post if I can. :)
