I've added an option to disable all Health Bars.Matrona said:Do I not have a right to my opinion?
Every time one of my friends is over here while I'm on CF, they always want to know more about it, and I find myself having to explain feature after feature. And most people think it is too complicated and don't see what I see in CF. Heck, I'm starting not to see what I see in CF. It has so many bells and whistles that I find myself spending more time thinking about what my sig should look like, my avatar, and what I am spending my "CF Time" on is not having much to do with the point of having a forum in the first place--reading and writing posts.
This forum takes so long to load things these days, that when I am sitting at my computer and I'm logged on to CF, I have a book beside me to read so I can do something productive while forum pages are loading!
Seriously. I've gotten halfway through Contemporary Ascetics of Mount Athos this way. Sometimes it takes less time for me to load Homestar Runner cartoons than CF pages.

- It may encourage newbies to flood the boards with more morology, thinking the 100% health is a high status indicator.
I was offended by that statement also. Thank you for stepping forward.Shalia said:[/list]Sorry to be a newbie "flooding the board with my morology" but I HATE it when people use the word "retarded" to mean something they dislike or seems useless or something other than what the word "retarded" is meant to convey.
As the mother of a special needs child, seeing "retarded" as an insult hurts. It's an insult to all children who actually ARE "retarded" to use their status as an insult rather than as it's actually meant. There are dozens of other word choices available that would not insult an entire community who are mostly incapable of defending themselves from being used as an insult on something that is totally unrelated to their mental capabilities.
"Newbie morology" over.

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. My opinion happens to be that you should get over it. You're hemming and hawing over an OPTIONAL feature.Matrona said:Do I not have a right to my opinion?

I totally agree. I was very surprised when I saw I had only 9% health. Maybe I should be in the ICU. I don't post very much because I'm busy, not unhealthy. There are posters who have 100% "health" but they don't appear to be emotionally healthy at all. Is there some way we can turn this option off, like the rep feature? Thank you, Erwin.Matrona said:I don't like this at all. I want to turn mine off. I don't want to see mine or anyone else's.
Sorry, but I think it's really sick to rate people's "health" based on how much they post--it will just encourage trolls like the one we had in TAW until recently, who post just to hear themselves talk and insult people and are just generally badly behaved.
The question about turning it off has been answered a few times in this thread by Erwin.Lorena said:I totally agree. I was very surprised when I saw I had only 9% health.
