That's a good question there... what happens to the banned members?
Bring 'em back. Who are we as Christians to forbid anyone to do anything? I should log into the moderator terminal and unban all the people I've banned in the past and apologize profusely for expecting civility.

It depends on why they were banned. If someone got banned for voicing their opinion, then yes, bring them back. If someone got banned for spamming, then I don't think anyone wants them back.

But what if the "spam" was a way for them to elucidate their opinion? Who are we to judge?

Ummm, atheists treat each other with dignity and respect. What makes Christians any different? What makes Christians different is our faith in Christ, which is the reason for us to express our love.
Which is more important in spreading Jesus' message:

Right action

or

Right belief

?

I post on many internet forums other than this one, and not one of them tolerates spam. It has nothing to do with being judgmental. It has to do with following the rules of the forum, which everyone agrees to (if they don't have to they should) when they choose to become a member of a forum.

Umm, what distinguishes this site as a CHRISTIAN site now? I almost recommend changing the name. If anyone can call themselves christian, there is no criteria to post in certain forums, what is the point in calling this a christian forum? Marketing? Name brand recognition? This isn't what I signed up for.

I had that same exact thought - I think the title needs changed as this is not a "christian" forum any longer at least not christian centered. Its more a open forum so the title should reflect that.

Why wouldn't it be a Christian forum anymore? I don't really see why...

It's owned and run by a Christian, and the core rules are being made with quite clear references to, and basis in, Christianity?
Ya, okay. I read the new stuff. No such reference will mean anything anymore. they should just take the Creed reference away. At present, its meaningless within the context of the new rules.

thanks for you hard work!

Question:

Can new mods be nominated/elected as the year goes on? Even now?
What will that process look like?
How does one keep track of how long staff members have been on staff (since you, Erwin, previously mentioned mods can stay on for one year before being re-nominated). Will it time out like Site Supporter status and one just needs to remember so they can prepare?

Also, what if a mod is doing a stinky job/wants to resign/takes extended periods of time off without notice? I'm wondering what is envisioned for dealing with those situations.

Can someone be nominated to any position no matter how much work experience they have? And if not, how long before they can 'move up'?

tons more practical questions to ask... later maybe!
