Weird.

OF what benefit is there for an atheist joining in a discussion such as soterology or patristics, etc... for either the discussion, OR the atheist, OR the other members discussing it?
When you figure that one out, you let us all know.

All this fear about non christians behaving badly...look in the reaction ..I have only seen the 'conservative' Christians behaving badly so far, calling names, accusing, being judgemental, rude ,threatning, causing panick.
Now who should really worry?

Umm, what distinguishes this site as a CHRISTIAN site now? I almost recommend changing the name. If anyone can call themselves christian, there is no criteria to post in certain forums, what is the point in calling this a christian forum? Marketing? Name brand recognition? This isn't what I signed up for.
Christianity is to evident in what we call ourselves, but in how we conduct ourselves. If they want to call themselves Christians - so be it. It's not our job to sort the wheat from the Tare. That's his job. Our Job is to Love and to stand for the truth.

Define what makes this a "Christian" forum, according to the new policies?
Well, it's a forum made mostly for Christians... it has a section specifically to discuss Christian theology, and a section with congregation forums for different churches and denominations.

It's likely that atheists won't go there - if they do those forums will have strict rules, as set by the members, to regulate such discussions, and have moderators that the members of those forums have chosen to implement the rules. :) It will work out.
THis is the type of clarification that I needed. I was getting the feeling the forums were going to be a free for all. THat was what I was getting out of my gleeing of the rules. Thanks Erwin.

Christianity is not a job. It is deep faith and devotion to God. We are His own instuments to play His psalms and His emissaries of peace and love.

Are we not bidden to sow upon the ground that will grow good fruit?

Are we not bidden not to cast pearls before swine?

We are shepherds of the Blessed Shepherd, to tend to flocks, to guide and protect them. Where is is given to us to spend all our time with wolves?

This is pretty good so far, the only name calling and insults I'm seeing are coming from the Fundamentalists
Wonder why the ones who aren't being marginalized and hurt not up to their usual accusations and complaints.

It's a puzzle, all right...

I never said that Christianity was a job. I said it was not our job to sort wheat from tare. Please be sure what you are responding to be fore you respond.
Are we not bidden to sow upon the ground that will grow good fruit?
no - we are bidden to BE the ground that will bare good fruit.
Are we not bidden not to cast pearls before swine?
Who's casting pearls?

There is only one good shepherd. We are his flock. He will guide and protect us if we follow him. We need to stop trying to do his job and start doing ours.

Which is more important in spreading Jesus' message:

Right action

or

Right belief

?
You can only know if the actions are 'right' if you first know that the beliefs are 'right'.

Anything else is a free-for-all.

You people don't stop, do you? Why do I get the hammer dropped on me?

Is it because I got banned under rules that no longer exist, which were usually vague, and enforced at the mods' discretion?

Or is it because I refused to be bullied by overzealous Christians and have the gall to come here and tell it to your face, defy your bans, and be a thorn in your side.

Now instead of making come up with a new name and doing this again, can someone answer my questions, please?

Do banned members get to appeal? Are we allowed impartial Christians and non-Christians to render a fair verdict, preferably ones who aren't currently on staff?

And on a side note, I saw that current staff will stay till the end of the year to help out. That makes sense, that's about 5 months, but is that how long it's going to take to get these staff elections?

And can someone quote this, because I know they're gonna get me again.

Very good questions.
